Amen!
I have not made any secret of my area of greatest interest - WWI and WWII ships. My first order of concern is that GHQ return to their practice of several years preceding the last season and produce a dozen Micronauts rather then the eight that appear in this season. Second, I'm not really interested in the pre-Dreadnought battleships and armored cruisers that seemed to dominate the 2009-2010 season. If GHQ are going to model ships from the pre-1914 era, they could at least cover those that participated in the Spanish-American War and Russo-Japanese war.
Although I am not collecting in the modern era, I do sympathize with those individuals who do. There are some great possibilites associated with the Falklands/Malvinas war and hypothetical cold-war scenarios.
My understanding is that GHQ does not finalize their decisions (at least for those models to be released in the later part of the year) until shortly before the announcement of the coming year's schedule. This means that we still have time to influence the decisions. If you are interested in Micronauts, please make a posting (in any of the threads) or send a PM listing what you would like to see and I will add them to the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List.
As you said, Irish; only six more weeks.

The New Micronauts Announcement!

Bravo to you, Irish!
I was beginning to wonder whether we were going to see any sort of “count-down frenzy†like we’ve had in past several years as we get closer to GHQ’s announcement of next year’s new production items. The board had almost become a bit sedate on this topic. I was wondering whether those of us who are the ship collectors and/or gamers had either: become victims of the troubled economy and were scaling back their hobby participation, or gotten into other hobbies, or were simply getting too old and dieing off. Just like Irish, the older I get, the more I want to see GHQ offer more new ships (because I already have the ones they offer, and want some more new ones!!)
I actually do like the pre-dreadnought selections that GHQ has been introducing – so far they can be used in WW1 scenarios (the new Russian ones recently offered were the core of the Black Sea Fleet battle line at the beginning of WW1, and had encounters with the Goeben) or in the “what if†scenarios for the USN battleships (both pre-dread and super-dreadnoughts). And while I’d like to see a few more modern ships, I’m just as happy with the variety contained in last year’s new products list. Like all of us, I’d like to see a longer list of new models, but I understand that GHQ’s staff can only pump out just so much – and I really don’t wish them to compromise their stellar quality for the sake of an aggressive product introduction schedule. So if this year’s list is only 8-12 new ships, then so be it. But we won’t complain if there’s more 

- heck, there’s decades worth of new models yet to be made – just look at Don’s ever-growing list.
Six weeks and counting.
In the mean time, I need to set aside the hobby funds for my USN Armored Cruiser squadron, when they’re released for sale at the end of April….

Irish, Kevin, Don,
I can truly empathize with you! As badly as you want Micronauts, I want WWII Microarmor and aircraft
I think this thread really highlights the predicament that GHQ customers are in... we all want more releases in our preferred time period and GHQ just can't get to it all!
GHQ, you have my sympathies but I think it's a good position to be in; you've got lots of loyal customers that are screaming for your product. So, I won't be upset no matter what the release list looks like this year (unless there are no German or Soviet WWII Aircraft

)
Just make sure to release a 1/285th German He-111H Please!!!

I suggest more pictures. Lots of pictures of well-painted, nicely based Micronaughts. Oh, and some AARs on your micro naval battles. With lots of pictures.
Yep, that's my answer to any shortcomings perceived in the GHQ line. More pictures. Show the world how beautiful the Micronaughts are. Show them how intriguing the games can be.
I bet that GHQ sells multiple models each time someone posts beautiful pictures of their latest builds, or a stirring AAR. Inspire the crowd. Build the audience. Enhance the market for the ships you want.
See, it is in your own self-interest. Eye candy helps your cause.
(And I enjoy it.

And don't forget hosting games at conventions and stores!
If there is room, I hope to put on both a WW1 and a WW2 naval scenario at Enfilade, the wargaming convention in Olympia, WA in late May. I think showing how much fun the battles are, and how the detailed models enhance the playing experience, is a good way to build the hobby.

I agree with everybody. I'd like to see more than eight micronauts a year. On the other hand, I've still got hundreds to paint - and several that I want to modify into versions not produced yet. I like both WWI and WWII; am even buying full sets of the pre-dreadnoughts. FYI, my biggest "wants" are:
Russian type 7U DDs. (i'm not really a Russian fan, but I buy every Micronout GHQ puts out, The 7Us would really fill out the Soviet fleet.)
U.S.S. Iowa (easy for GHQ to modify the Missouri, i would think.)
U.S.S. South Carolina - the first U.S. dreadnought class.
U.S.S. Nevada - the WWI version
H.M.S. Malaya - the only operating BB not available from GHQ
H.M.S. WWII cruisers - a basic Kent, and/or Sheffield, Charybdis. etc. The list is still long.
H.M.S. WWI cruisers - any that were at Jutland, in particular
Another Japanese CV. There's still the Shinano, the two Chitose conversions, and the Unryus. there's also the CVEs; i have some good camouflage patterns for the Taiyos.
A Hipper and/or a Deutschland.
More WWII French - there's still an old BB class or two, a CA and a CL class waiting to be offered.
More WWI would be nice; possibly GHQ could start with either the Austro-Hungarian, Italian, or French fleets.
These are at the top of my want lists, although I buy just about anything GhQ offers. I'm listing these here to see what you think. I've already put them on my want list for Donald's list, but I want to keep "advertising" for them.

Okae, Don't want to be a spoiler but I'm more of the post cold war scenario Micronauts enthusiast.
And I want more Post Cold War Naval Stuff. But okae, I understandably think that since WW1 and WW2 has a larger fanbase with much more influence, GHQ will and should be catering to your needs. My sincere hope is that they build up along the years their Modern Naval fleet too.
I don't ask for much but perhaps for the next release, get a type 45 UK Destroyer in it.
or Perhaps a Type 23 Frigate to the UK navy.
That's all.

And I promised I would release an onslaught of Modern Naval Pictures as I am already in the midst of painting my US Fleet and Proceeding to my Russian One Soon.
Hope it isn't too much. Just one slot or two slots for the post cold war era. Hell one slot would be great too.
Although, in terms of the future, I hope GHQ would expand their Modern Naval Fleet Collection to other countries, say.. Japan's JMSDF and China's PLAN.
Don't hate me because I'm different

And Hear our Pleas.. Oh Mighty GHQ.

You are not alone, exodusforever. I'm also collecting Japan's JMSDF and China's PLAN fleet. I don't think the pacific theater should be left out in any modern naval collection line. I've been waiting for years and hope that GHQ can restart rolling out their modern / post WWII Micronauts. Afriad that I'll be kept disappointed for many years to come.
