New Armor Build Up in South America

Greetings Fellow Treadheads,

Some of you may already know of this. I recently came across info of new armored vehicle build up in the southern hemesphere. Chile now has well over 100 Leopard 1s and 2A4s in their inventory. Peru apparently feeling threatened has gone and acquired China's MBT 2000 tank which is the same tank used by Pakistan. Recently found videos in You Tube confirming news articles showing the new tank in Peruvian use. This to me can be a very good new type of battles to be thought of. It seems that there is now a escalated arms race developing. I would like to get comments and view points from anyone and possibly share geo-political info regarding these developments.
