2010-2011 New Releases

Post by GHQ »

We have recently completed our 2010-11 new release list for our N-Scale Roadmasters, 1/285th scale Micro Armour, and 1/2400th scale Micronauts. It always takes us about 4-5 months to complete this list. We usually receive about 5000 customer requests each year, and the list is always largely based on those requests. After all, who knows what our customers want more than our customers? Putting the list together is always a very delicate balance. We have a lot of customers, and cover a lot of different eras, areas, scales, etc.

Our goal is always to keep as many people happy as possible. Trust us, we know what areas are covered well, and what areas are not. We know that some people will be very happy about our choices, and we know that others will not. The main idea is to keep as many people happy as possible. We are generally pretty open about things at GHQ, and the truth is that if an area is not covered well, it is something that over the years has not sold well. We have always given lines many years to catch on, and at some point the sales tell us whether it is something that we should continue to put resources into, or use them for something else. This doesn't mean that no new releases will ever come. it just means that there aren't any on this list.

With all of that being said,...drum roll please... here are the 2010-2011 new releases:

Great new models. I really welcome the Kfz18 Horch, the sIG 33 /1 grille, the 250/3, and the 6Pdr Portee. The re-dos are pretty intersting too. Thanks GHQ. :D

BKA-1125? No kidding?!?! Where did THAT come from. Next month, even? MUST HAVE! (Must have a few...)

PG-117? Oh please tell me you are making it WITH the Maxim MG on a pedestal mount. MUST HAVE several.

What a surprise. Now my Romanians and Soviets can duke it out on the Crimean coastline in real style!!

Oh, and I am very pleased to see the M4A1 updated Sherman. Expecting (hoping) that's a mid-war production model, perfect for D-Day and Normandy.

Also pleased to see the AMX-VCI. Now I'll need some M-47s (always wanted some M-47s) to go with 'em. Early/mid cold war ... gotta love it.

Mark me down as quite pleased. :P

GHQ,

I read the email on my drive home; I about crashed when I saw the HE-111. My list is made, thank you! I'm also happy to see lots of rework on the PzIV chassis vehicles; the new chassis on the G and H have some pretty nice details (tracks are amazing!).

Bravo! I'm more than happy!

:D Obviously GHQ can't please all of us. The German WWII stuff is a guaranteed seller and the re-do's will do well. As for me I am excited about the M-ATV, M-1 Breecher, AMX-13 VCI, IDF Namer, the Brazilian armor and a few others. Decent amount of Micronauts and a wide variety of them. Only disappointment is with the lack of 10mm stuff - especially no new Napoleonics (this is my newest area of interest). The ACW has grown a bit over the past 12 months and at least there is one more add this year. I hope the irregular infantry satisfy the big complainers out there (I am tired of the whining!). Another great job by the best customer focused hobby company out there. Thanks!

:D BTW - I also like the aircraft additions this year and we get to see the new releases a week earlier than last year

Okay, Ferret that's cool, M-1 Breacher I'll get a couple of, IDF Namer and the Brazilian stuff is cool. Do I dare get my hopes up for Midway to be the angled deck conversion? After all the war was over by the time she was commissioned, what good would she serve in the WWII line up? I can dream can't I?

Paul, I hate to ruin your dreams, but there is a zero percent chance that the Midway will be the modern version - straight deck guaranteed. Bummer I know, but given that it is a US WWII stock number we have no hope.

Or should I say stock prefix (USN instead of HUS).

I'm not particularly interested in everything only because I can't afford it all. But there is plenty to like and enough to keep me quite busy. Thanks GHQ, I can't believe we got a Hipper, first on my list and the HE-111. I'm very excited. I may even get some of the reworked PzIVF2's and use my old ones as burned out hulks mwahaha.

I know its not going to happen but what good is a ship or ship configuration that missed the war?

GHQ - A very interesting list. You're filling a couple of gaps, and announced a couple of vehicles and ships I've never heard of. Most World War Two gamers will want the 250/3 to make the headquarters for the Afrika Korps. And you've hooked me with the Land Wasser Schlepper: I'll have to get some to add to my 'What were they thinking?'collection.
