Hi,
I would want to use some GHQ paints.
If someone here has a list of suggestions on which GHQ colour to use for :
-WWII Armor
-WWII infantry
-WWII aircraft
-Vietnam armor
-Modern 70s and 80's tanks, AFVs
-Modern 70's and 80 aircraft
I'd be interested to know.

Without specifics (such as German Army - Mountain troops) it would prove a lengthy list. I can say that one GHQ paint I use regularly whatever the period is "Rust"!!!

Sorry for the big question, and for being unclear
I really meant to know which colours are suggested/used for any uniform/tank by GHQ fans.
All answers are welcome, German Mountain troops being a good start, also the Japanese uniform -or Japanese tank camo.
Just wanted to open a kind of reference topic which could include colours used for drybrushes and the like.

OK , some ideas for a re-start ...
And here are some results obtained in the topics here.
Surprisingly, other brands are more often mentioned than GHQ paints.

a) A sum up of the few results for armoured vehicles/tanks obtained so far :

British/Commonwealth WW2 : CLR5 Olive Drab / CLR6 Khaki Drab./

British/Commonwealth :Desert CLR8 UK sand Yellow

US WWII : CLR5 Olive Drab

Soviet WWII armor green : CLR9 OR lighter colours : Camo Green CLR1 or Khaki Drab CLR6

Modern Soviets : CLR 9


b) My own ramblings after a careful study of the colours given on the website and in a GHQ paper catalog :

1) US infantry uniforms :

Early war uniforms:
-coats : CLR5 Olive Drab
-trousers : CLR6 Khaki Dab
-Boots -: CLR3 Camouflage Brown
-Helmets CLR5 Olive Drab or CLR30 Aircraft Green

Late war uniforms : CLR5

2) UK : CLR6 Khaki Drab uniforms

3) US Vietnam-era infantry CLR32 WWII Italian Green-Gray

4) Viet-Cong : Charcoal gray (CLR4) "uniforms"/ hats : CLR8 UK Sand Yellow.

Other ideas /suggestions ?
