BB Kirishima or BB Hiei? Which is best model for BB Haruna?

Post by ww2navyguy »

Which is the best model by GHQ to represent BB Haruna? Is it better to use the BB Kirishima (IJN10) model or the newer BB Hiei (IJN48) model?

Thanks!

Scott

Scott, I suppose it would depend on the time period. Based on my sources, the Hiei would not be a good representation. The superstructure is more compact on the Hiei than her sisters. Early-war period, Kirishima would be a reasonable substitute and the Kongo (1944 configuration) would be the best fit for the late-war period.

I hope this helps.
Always respect the law of gross tonnage (aka "bigger boat wins")
