Woohoo! The Summer Sale is upon us! So what are you ordering this time around?
I'm waiting for the August new releases before placing my order so I can include the new Irregulars. Haven't figured out the details yet but I know it will include more WWII stuff to fill out that project.
What will you be painting this fall?

Will GHQ accept an order, by August 13th, for items that - typically - will not be available until the last week of August?
To answer your question - PzIV(s), T-72s and a few of the Russian BKs.
Would have been more, but Historicon was only 2 weeks ago......
Also feel the need for some AMAZONS and BROADSWORDS - can't ever expect them to add to the line - wishful thinking, I know - if I don't buy what they have.

I'm getting a wide variety of Micronauts; everything new since the last major sale that I haven't yet purchased, finishing up hypothetical British and German fleets for my WWI-era alternate history, and gradual additions to the US fleet of WWII (after this order, only 110 more APA212 Montrose to get).

Finishing up my Union artillery (at least this phase), and starting on Confederate infantry.
Speaking of artillery ... CAN I ORDER INDIVIDUAL GUNS? (Yes I've emailed several times to ask)
Cheers,
Christopher

I've ordered for my Italian Army in North Africa:
2 italian tankettes
2 semovente 75mm
Italian Infantry and Heavy Weapons
then for the German Army 1939-1943 ETO:
2 250/C Infantry Carriers
1 250/C mortar and support
I'll place my next order in August, and will be a mix of Italian, German and British materiel for the African Campaign.

So are the August releases not available until the last day of August? That would be a bummer.

I checked the June releases and it looks like they came out mid-June. Looks like I might have to wait till December for the irregulars.

Just played out a "CSIR during Barbarossa" wargame last week, and had a ton of fun (look for an AAR soon). Now I'm all re-invigorated to build up my Italian forces a bit more.
My next "try these figures as a substitution" project is likely to be using the German motorcycle figures to try to create mounted Italian motorcycle troops. Thinking if I hit the bottoms of the helmets along the sides with a flat file to remove some of the tell-tale Stielehelm "step" they will look close enough to Italian helmets. The MG34 will certainly be close enough to a Breda for my purposes. I've even looked at cutting up a Kettengrad or two for the Italian tricyclettes, but gave up on that notion.
Looking for information on the various motorcycle formations that may have fought with the CSIR / 8th Army on the Eastern Front, as well as in Tunisia or Sicily (so far all of my Italian infantry are in continental uniforms rather than tropical kit). I know that there were many motorcycle-mounted Bersaglieri formations, but I'm trying to determine if there were non-Bersaglieri mounted as well (plain motorized rifle formations or motorized cavalry formations). If not, I can always pop something on the helmets to look like plumes, but it would be easier if I didn't have to.

I have ordered parts (a sprue of pieces) from GHQ before and I believe they still will accomodate these requests. Identify what pieces you want and the SKU number and name of the kit they come from and they should be able to take care of you this way...you may get a few pieces that you don't want along with your guns...but you would get your guns. I think this is addressed in one of the threads in this forum, I just can't remember which one. I hope this helps.

the only Italain fighting units on motorcycles were of Bersaglieri. Motos were used for many other duties like messngers or convoy escort but wthout direct fighting capabilities.
But to make Italians from German motorcycles will be difficult. Besides the helmets you need to cut off the sidecar as the Guzzi Alce was without it. Moreover it was used in two variants one mono (no back seat, one man only) and one with two men. Consider that in a company there were 28 "single" and 44 "double" motos.
The Breda LMG (one per squad) was placed on a saddle mountend above the fuel tank and could not be used in motion. It was actually just a way to transport it.
If ypu want to know specific notorcycle units used on the Eastern front or in Africa tell me and I can make a bit of research.
