Objective was for the German player to push thru and exit as many units as possible off enemy edge of battlefield.
German player was only able to push up to the the large hill in the middle of the battlefield with a company of grenadiers after about 6 turns and 8 hours of play. This was the first experience o playing micro armor for my friends who participated. Way too many units to push across the battlefield. Still had tons of fun and one of my friends just purchased some Russian armor.

German Armor traffic jamb. It was very slow going for the Germans since some well placed mines and arty fire on the approaches to all stream crossings really hampered his movement.

Germans arty hiding behind ridge

Germans make it across first stream.

US Engineers successfully defend town.

Some well placed artillery fire.

This TD did not have a chance against German armor.

German artillery finds the range.

Armor pushing across ford.

One of many road blocks.

Germans never made it this far.

This is what happens when you get flanked.

As you can see the stream really held up the German advance. We played it that you could only cross at the bridges or ford.

US arty BN and armor safe behind a hill.

End of game. If you look close, a German grenadier company made it to the forward slope of the hill at the top center of the picture.
We used the GHQ rule set which plays fairly quickly once everyone had a firm grasp of the rules. Next time, I'll reduce the number of units.
