WRG Moderns Micro Armour tournament in New Zealand

Post by 6mmwargaming »

Hi all

I realise its unlikely many of you can attend but I thought I post it here anyway as any microarmour tournament is a good thing. :D

If you can make I can organise some free accommodation, and it will be the middle of summer down here so it will be nice and warm!

I've organised a Microarmour Moderns competition using WRG 1950-2000 rules and army lists no later than 1979 which we are running in Auckland, NZ in Feburary. We have found that the lower tech games are more enjoyable and you get to use a bunch of equipment we wouldn't in our normal WRG competitions.

I'm using Swedes (with S Tanks) and other armies are likely to be British, East Germans, West Germans, British Recce and some others.

I'll post some pictures afterwards along with a battle report. At the moment I'm making a bunch of new terrain for it and hopefully I will have some terrain boards finished in time.

Cheers
Kieran

Kieran,
Thanks for the invite, I am bring it all, 8 boxes, half of which have 36 drawers of micro armor along with a few tackle boxes filled with tank traps of modern micro armor... I am bring the good stuff, modern and ultra modern. Hope the plane can get off the ground....

We will parachute into the gaming facility...? If that is okay. Hopefully we have learned from air dropping Sheridan's...?

Oppppppppps, I checked with my wife, she will not let me go. Love to join you there,
Good Luck.

Ooh, ooh, ooh. I just LOVE S-tanks!

But I don't think the WRG rules comprehended the front fence system or the side fuel tank defenses.

And as to those East Germans ...

Do you think customs would have any difficulty if I brought NVA T-72s?

Yeah unfortunately most of my army is not GHQ becuase they dont make any Swedish equipment :(

Come on guys you will only need around 40-50 vehicles!

The T72 should be fine. I saw a MIG 21 parked outside a shop the other day in Auckland.

Cheers
