I don't know if this has been discussed here or not but have any of you seen this? I thought it was pretty good. Its sort of Full Metal Jacket mixed with All Quiet on the Western Front story of a Soviet company in the last days of their occupation in Afghanistan. Worth a rental.

Yeah pretty interesting movie! Funniest scene in the movie has got to be the plastic explosive training scene. Favorite part is either when "Sparrow' Petrovsky goes alone into an afghan village for some smokes, or when the ETSing russian soldier gives him the good luck medallion.

Yeah, thought it was a pretty good movie. Nice to see how things look from the other side. Apparently based upon a true story. I also like that the equipment used was accurate as opposed to some painted up Patton tanks representing Tigers...and I LIKED that movie too, but hard to get past that.
