Going totally GHQ(well almost!)

Over the years I have had a lot of GHQ metal.
Mostly modern, at times Russian, US, Israeli and British.
After many years of under use they got sold off here and there until by the early 2000's all that I had left was a small amount of Scotia South African equipment. There was never that much demand for that anyway so I just kept it to one side.

So for the last few years that is all I had. It became a bit of a small freelance Defence force, just in case I got back into gaming but way out of date and always on a very low budget.

I started to add GHQ Land Rovers,Eland 90's (AML 90), Alouettes and cut down Pumas as Oryx Helicopters.
This is when I started to miss the detail again. The Scotia Ratel's, Rooikats and Samil trucks are some of their better models but they are not GHQ.
Since this is mostly a bookcase army and is not really used as counters in a war game, why not go with the best looking hardware you can get?

So I have had a bit of a defence review and decided to update my small freelance Defense Force to bring it up to date.
In doing so I am going to go just about 100% GHQ.

Like I said it is a freelance Army but I wanted to mirror closely a true armed force so data would be available if It ever needed to defend it's turf on a gaming table.

After much reading, looking, drinking, thinking and drinking some more I have started to update my Forces with new equipment based along the lines of the Australian Defence Force.
It is not a armour heavy force by most standards and it is not perfect. However it matched my main aims.

1, Good troops.
2, Good MBT.
3, Modern attack and lift helicopters.
4,Modern Air force for support.

There are some gaps but then its my Army so there is room to beef up the areas I want.
So I am starting almost anew. Some buys over the holiday got me going and the "another one bites the dust" thread got me down to the Sentry box in Calgary to use up some old Paypal cash.
It's going to take some time but GHQ cover just about all I need right now.
I have a few FA-18's (CinC) and ARH Tigers (modded H&R) for the moment but I feel both are good candidates for a GHQ issue in the near future, then it would be 100% GHQ.
Now if only I could paint half as well as most on this site I would be set!

But the chinooks looked so shinny and I'm sure they are cheaper by the pair.
This will be the last little Force I put together, after this no more! I will be just buying a few more and that will be it,
I could stop buying right now If I wanted to, no problem, could be tomorrow.
Oh look how did those NH-90's get there?

PS. I'm only getting this one pack of M1 TUSK's to mix up the M1's in the one Squadron.
