I just want to make sure I have the organisational level of the game understood. It says on the web page for the ACW rules that each stand represents(approx) 70 men (approx 1 comapany) so that puts a Reg't at 10 stands, Bgd at 40-50 stands and a Div at 120stands. Do I have that right?

Yes, you have this correct.

A regiment might have 600 men on the books but might be lucky to field 2/3rds of that on any given day because of sickness, wounds etc.
