Soviet WW2 Katyusha bm-13 values

I'm curious if any of you have printed/published range data on the BM-13 Katyusha that agrees with the wwII rules of only 1.1km for the standard 132mm rocket units. The online data I've found suggests they could go much further.
I'm pretty sure its not a typo in the rules as the point cost is relative to the range and firepower of the unit. This leads me to conclude Mr. Fernandes found the values somewhere. Just curious if one of you has it in a book somewhere?

Thanks
Leif

Well it has been a while since your posting, and no one has come up with any replies yet, so I thought I might chime in.

To my knowledge the BM-13 had a range of 10,000 meters.

But the question is, where did I get that knowledge from? And on that, I am stymied. That number is fixed deep in my memory, but I'll be #%$*@& if I can figure out where I originally read it. I have gone through several of my books, including my older references (since it is not a recent revelation), and so far at least, I have come up with nothing.

Was sure it would be in Milsom's Russian Tanks 1900 - 1970. But alas, it is not. :(

Still looking. But don't hold your breath.

It's not a primary source, but the "Mortars and Rockets" volume of Arco's World War 2 Fact Files by Peter Chamberlain and Terry Gander gives a range of 8500 m (9300 yards) for the Soviet 132 mm rockets.

According to a Russian book on rocket artillery I have, the ranges for various rockets were as follows:
M-8 (TC-34) 5.515m
M-13 (TC.13) 8.470m
M-13 YK (TC-53) 7.900m
M-31 (TC-31) 4.325m
M-31 YK (TC-52) 4.000m

These data are luckily shown in a table as my knowledge of Russian is near to zero.-

Thank you all for your efforts. Those values correspond closely to what I found on (big cringe) the internet.

I know John's earlier, unpublished editions of the rules used a 'generic' range of 100" for this weapon but before GHQ published it he modified a lot of the artillery ranges based on research he did. He actually gave me a 'supplement' I recall was titled 'WWII artilllery" but I can't find it so far. This had lots more artillery pieces from lots of countries with game values. He used many of those values in the published rules but left out many of the weapons as there were few models available for them.

I'll modify this weapons data for my local games (not that it will get used much).

Thanks again
Leif
