I am not sure if there is already a thread on this, but does anyone think 6mm WW1 figures, planes and even......tanks be a good idea for GHQ to make in the future?

Might be a good idea. There is a supplement to Command Decision coming out at historicon that is for WW1.

I would really like to see GHQ do this. So far I've found only one manufacturer that does WWI in 6mm and nobody beats GHQ in quality.

Aside from IRREGULAR MINIATURES and ROS & HEROICS.....I don't know of any other manufacturer. GHQ would be a welcome addition.

I knew about Irregular, didn't know H&R did 6mm WWI. Still, would always prefer GHQ...

I would like them for WWI Spearhead, myself...

At first, you might think there wasn't much to WWI--just trench warfare. But even that could be interesting, especially with those first tanks. And, of course, there were other fronts. But it's be quite an investment for GHQ for a questionable demand.

I for one would welcome GHQ doing the Great War! However, do the line from 1914 on. This would give gamers the chance to see if they could prvent the stalemate on the Western Front, as well as fight the opening rounds on the Eastern Front (Tannenburg). This idea was part of the old "Over the Top" rules from Command Decision game (circa 1980's). Fur der Vaterland und Kaiser, Gott mitt uns!

WW1 had a faster rate of technical and tactical change than in WW2. Infantry tactics changed, artillery practice changed, introduction of air (scouting, recon, ground support etc) and armour... radio, electronic warfare (actually began in 1905, but oh well). Lots of stuff to explore here!

You have a point about the innovations introduced during WWI (though comparisons are virtually impossible to quantify). These new technologies became a permanent part of war: air planes, radio, tanks, submarines, poison gas (if little used again), machine guns, flame throwers, heavy artillery and indirect fire to boot! Should at least make one sympathetic to commanders who had little time to react to radical changes in their profession.

I would really be interested in seeing "The Great War" done with GHQs quality of infantry. I would also like to add that if they did they should REALLY do other pertinent pieces such as artillery, vehicles, and crews in the larger scale to match the infantry scale. Please . . .

i hope that GHQ will listen to our thoughts and, in the future, start production on this topic.

I would buy WW1 in 6mm. Some of the WW2 figures you can use for late WWi, but early was figures are needed to.

Me too. I have some WW1 from other manufacturers and they could be better.

Right. I have some of those too, there are so bad I took a picture of them, posted them on this forum and stated that anybody who wanted them just needed to pay post... No offers...
