Ok, we gots plenty o Chinese figs. but who do we have to fight them in our hypothetical future wars in Asia? We gots plenty o Russian figs, and we gots plenty O American figures. And Certainly Russian American and Chinese equipment are used by other nations concerned.

However there are 2 nations missing that produce there own equipment.

Certainly If you want to fight a hypothetical future war in Korea, you will need to represent the ROKs (South Korea) that produces the K1, K1A1, and K1A2 MBTs, as well as the K21 IFV.

And It would also be beneficial to have the JDF (Japanese defense force) Represented with there Type 90, and type 10 MBTs as well as there type 89 IFV and a whole host of other vehicles.

Just seems to me that any major hypothetical conflict in asia involving china could involve them.

And with the increase in price to almost 10$ a pack, I would really prefer not to have to take a set of files and murder existing figs in order to Kit bash these forces.

So,, who wants to see the ROK and JDF represented, and what are the chances of seeing them in the near future?

India is also a producer of locally-modified T-72s based on the Russian T-72M1 subtype, and also a customer of a number of T-90s.

So it looks like there are several GHQ products that can be used, at least so far as MBTs are concerned.

A vehicle that indigenous to its country would be a great item to field on a battle board. Yes India does field Russian exports. China exports to Pakistan battle tanks like the Type 2000, Type 69s, and Type-85-II MBTs.

Yes, another great example. Seems to me that the Arjun looks enuf like the Leopard 2 that a casting for an Arjun would not be that much of a stretch. And same for the JDF Type 90. Although Thats going off my knowledge of Miniature casting which happens to be absolutely Zero.

True. Development of the Arjun was so badly delayed that India purchased a few hundred T-90S tanks from Russia as a stopgap to replace Aging equipment that was badly in need of replacement. However, The Arjun has (supposedly) overcome its development problems. And now equips the Indian army's 75th Armored Regiment. Making it a Notable Indigenous MBT that is likely to see front line combat in the event of a Serious war in Asia.

However, It seems to me that a war between north and south Korea, which history has shown a gruesome tendency to drag both the united states and China into the firing line should probably be the main focus only because it seems more likely to happen.

I would really like to see some ROK figures before anything else.

There have been over 1,500 ROK K1 series tanks produced since the mid 80s,, It just seems to me that the production numbers and the chances of a war in Korea would make coming out with ROK forces a little more important then rolling out another Obscure Engineering vehicle Or third world Horse drawn 80s model Pickup truck armed with a crossbow.

I agree on the K-1 . However, much of the ROK still uses M-48A5's too.
I will hammer one more time on GHQ revamping the current US 5 ton truck model from its current hybrid M-923 series/M-800 series vehicle to something that is "real world". The ROKs,the Israelis,the Saudi's,the Egyptians,the Thai's and even the Paki's use the M-800 5 tons. Redo the current M-923 model to be the Bigfoot version,so its not so darn goofy looking when you have to tow a 155mm howitzer!

One could say the same for the Italians where is the OF40, VCC1-2 , Centaro 105 and wheeled APC and AFV Palmaria 155 SPG. Heck Id be tickled Pink if they they did a route clearence Unit and Engineer Eqp and Figures...But I also have to praise GHQ for adding new stuff to their line every year even if I don't need it some body will ...Mikey

For the Italians, I wouldn't worry too much about the OF-40 (only 36 ever produced and used by IIRC Oman) or the Palmyria (produced mainly for Libya, and a few others elsewhere, Nigeria maybe). The VCC-1 would be a great addition, as it is a cool vehicle. I have scratch-built about 30, but they don't compare well with what GHQ produces. The VCC-2, IIRC, would be that different from the M-113, but could be represented by a "two-hole" M113 -- essentially one that replaces the single commanders hatch with a pair of them, also used by other nations (Belgium and I think in a modified form by Norway), and probably others.

Here is an idea for the Italians...

I use the YPR-765 for the VCC-1, put in an individual MG in place of either the tow launcher or in place of the 25mm turret. For the Dardo, I use the Marder hull from another company located in Minn and the turret from the MCV-80. I converted these before they were operational and thus before the tow launcher on each side of the turret. Getting ready to build three more, so will figure out a tow launcher on both sides.

For the Centaro 105, have stop-gap measure at best.... use extra luch hull, and have some bad turrets that are either from the Leopard 1 or Tam or something similar. Snipped off some of the front of the Luchs, which becomes the rear of the Centaro. Not really please with it, but if I need eight.... I have them.

I am working on the Ariete, using a bad Abrams hull and a challenger turret from someone else or another abrams turret from another manufacturer. Still in prototype stage.

I have seen pics of the Italian MBT in Iraq

The Ariete in Iraq is a special version with additional armour and two MG with shoelds on the turret roof.

The most ionteresting models will be of the Centauro long based family. You will have APC (Freccia) with various specialized versions, the one with 120mm gun turret and, possibly, the Draco (76mm AA gun) and the self propelled 155/39. The last two are under development.
