Furry tanks anyone?

Now I know some people go to extraordinary lengths to camouflage their tanks but covering a Libyan T-72 in Camel fur (or is it sheepskin?) in the desert is taking it to extremes!

See if this link works...

Great photo, probably cheaper than painting it every few years. Cost of labor and camel hair or sheep skin.....more economical???

Funny as it looks up close I bet it is a good and effective camo when viewed at a distance.

It would also be an interesting question to ask whether it keeps the tank warmer or cooler inside; the leather and full fleece could act like ceiling batts, but the heat generated inside would be kept there...

We had a flood in our garage once, about mumble mumble BIG NUMBER mumble years ago. I seem to recall some of my GHQ T-72s came out looking about like that.

Who'd 'a' thunk it was a look that would come into style?

Hmmm, rather than T-72s, they may have been "T-74s" per the catalog at that time. In other words T-72M1's from Uralmash, IIRC.
