Universal carriers, UK 98 vs UK 14

UK98 (the new universal carrier) has 5 per pack; the old one (UK 14) has 8 models per pack. Does this mean we get attachments like MMG's or covers? The description doesn't tell you much.
What is different with the new model? I've been waiting for this since the list was published, and now I'm not sure; if it is just a 'crisp new mold' then I fear this has lost me. It'd have to be a major change to justify what is effectively a 40% increase in price per unit.
I had plans on spending a few hundred today on an order, now not so much.

Good question. I have often wondered why they have a standard $9.95 (even terrain maker) per pack. Some of the models are so small the price makes no sense while the larger ones...maybe so. Can't wait for that $10 barrier to be breached....lol.

As of 11-11, no photo yet for the universal carrier. Has anyone ordered and received a pack? Are the contents superior to the old UK14?

With respect to pricing; it is a bit hard to understand the logic behind:
- G563, Jagdpanzer E-75, per pack: 5, $9.95
- UK98, Universal carrier, per pack: 5, $9.95

Photo is up now. nice casting, but no extras; no guns, mortars, canvas covers... just two crew members added. Seeing as I am down to the gun and mortar carriers (and therefore need to modify the vehicle) I'm much better off going to the other guy; nice clean casts, easier to modify, and half the cost.

Anyone taking bets on whether the two crewmen match the infantry in size and scale?

At the risk of putting words in the mouth of GHQ, when the commodity prices went nuts a couple of years ago the cost of the metal increased enormously. This did not cause a vast increase in the cost of the models (to us consumers at least). I think this indicates that the metal content in a model is not a major driver of the cost.

Is it just me, or does the posted image of the new Universal Carrier look stretched in the vertical axis? I hope this is just an image processing error, and not the actual proportions.

I can see a difference in the two. The New version is detailed far and above the older version and to me is worth the cost.....

A friend of mine received his CARRIERS: Inded, there are only 5 per pack versus the 8 that used to be provided for $9.95.
