Hi guys,
today I did a short sologame to get into the rules. I played the Tank Game rules.
Rule 7.1.2 says that a stand may be the object of ONE attack per turn. What does this ONE attack mean? Only one shot from one opposing tank? Or all the shots from one tank unit.
Given situation: the sole survivor of a US Sherman Platoon gets attacked by a German Panzer IV Platoon of 3 tanks. Does the rule mean that only one Pz IV may shoot the Sherman? Or may all 3 tanks fire, one after the other?
Regards,

Ragnar:
It might be easier for you to get replies if you would specify the ruleset you are asking about in the title of your thread, or in your posting.
Our hosts GHQ publish multiple rulesets -- Micro Armor, The Game (often called MATG here) comes in both WW2 and Modern versions. Then there is Micro Squads. Our hosts have also published at least two other rulesets that I know of for microarmor over the years (I still have my copy of Tank Charts, with the GHQ logo on the cover). They also publish Micronaughts, The Rules for naval combat and Micro Force, The Rules for the American Civil War.
Added to that, there are many other publishers of rules for these scales and periods.
So just a friendly suggestion to help you get answers: keep in mind that there are many different rulesets that memebers talk about in this forum.

as Tammy noticed, I referred to the Tank game rules, there might only be a difference between WWII and Modern. Thinking of Micronauts or even Microforce when reading "Tank Game" wouldn´t make any sense, right?

Allright, now I know that a single attack is the application of firepower of one or more stands. But does this mean that the phrase "more stands" means more stands from different units or only more stands from one unit, let´s say 1. Company of the given tank battalion? I suggest it means "more stands from one particular unit".

You may fire with all the stands in range independently from their unit. In the rules there are nofire group or limit of unit.
How many stands you will use depends on the sitiuation. You may want to keep some stands for opportunity fire, for example.Remember the effect of firing on concealing terrain.

Good point too Tammy.
From my experience with gaming, especially when dealing with late war WWII where there are bazooka's, PIAT's and Panzerschreks (and other infantry AT weapons) make sure that you have your tanks protected by infantry. I found out the hard way about that tactic...which I lost 3 British Sherman MkV. I remembered that when I played a modern battle...I supported my armour with infantry...
