second question is about break points, how is this determined etc?

Hi,
The types of units named with generic letters are simply different possible variations of infantry stands at a given tech level. Rather than list the hundreds of unique or distinct types of troops from around the world and of the same general tech level such as "US Marines", "French Legion Etrangere", "Soviet Infantry" or "German Panzer Grenadiers", The author just provides archtypes on which one can build their forces. If you develop a Order of Battle for a specific historical encounter you might say "Ghurka Infanty '82 (Type n).

Break points are a component of the optional rule called Unit Determination 11.03, pg. 24. It's part of an optional (but highly recommended) moral system. If you've read that section of the rules and still don't get it, let me know and I'll try to clarify it a bit for you. I 'Got It' when I did my own little example to try it out.

Regards,
Red Leif
