Post by DAK »

I would like to see the following combat commands.

WW 2 German paratroop assault group with gliders..

WW2 Hungarian combat group both 1941/1942 and 1944/1945. Included should be Italain 100mm guns, CV3/35 for early war ect.....

1942 Stalingrad era German panzer group with Panzer III J, Panzer iv F2, 251 halftracks, infantry ect...

More 1947 combat commands.

How about a Korean War battle pack with M-46 MBT, M-39 APC,jeeps, half tracks, troops etc . Might even throw the L-19 Bird Dog plane for spotting .
You could throw in a Communist force pack with the T-34/85, Su -76, heavy weapons, troops, etc also.

While we are at it, it would be easy to put together a Vietnam armored cav pack with the M-48 tanks,M113 ACAVs, M-125 MORTAR, M-577, Deuce and a halfs, Jeeps, troops etc.

I would very much like to see a mid war Finnish combat command, two actually one as a capture tank company consisting of t-28, t-26 and KV-1 as well as infantry and gun support, and then one just named Finnish Combat Command 1942-43 complete with BT-42 assault guns, a few capture tanks etc. t34 t26 B10 armoured cars, infantry and of course one or two landsverk AA tanks.

They could also make a Italian tank company with m14/41 tanks and some trucks and recon. And they could possibly even make a British SAS LRDG squadron with infantry or not for North Afica.

Just thinking out loud :)

There are some really good ideas here.

I'd second the Finnish CC. But based on the reading I've done, you'd really only need T-26's for tanks. Acccording to what I've read, the Finn's only captured 6 T34's and 3 T34-85's. And they weren't all operational at the same time. And if memory serves me right they only had 2 KV-I's. Of course the other problem is that GHQ doesn't yet make a BT-42 or Finnish infantry.

One CC I'd like is a 76mm Sherman box but to Soviet TO&E standards, so 21 M4A3's (from US96). I know we only shipped them the A2 variant, but I doubt I could see the difference between the A3 and A2 without my bifocals on anyway. Throw in a POL/tanker truck and a Studebaker as the workshop trucks and you'd have a nice command ready for painting.

Modern Engineer CCs

Post by intruder523 »

I don't know why, but other than the US forces, the modern engineer vehicles just aren't put out there too much by GHQ. I know people may not buy them in volume but a Command set of them might go...I'd like to see them put out by nationality, but whatever works. There are usually a bunch of spin off vehicles of the country of origin's MBTs, bridgers, assault vehicles, minelayers, etc. I have been wanting a Leopard based AVLB since forever, also some Brit engineering vehicles based on the Challenger or some French Le Clerc based vehicles. Anyway you get the idea. I am by no means the first guy to have "breached" this subject btw A set based on the Soviet forces could fill two combat commands, lol. Truck mounted bridging units too. The possibilities are endless. :)

You know what you can do intruder is scratchbuild or make your own, if you havent seen the thread, scratch building, the stuff those guys can make from pieces of plasticard and spare parts is amazing, even buildings, so you should check out some pictures of real leopard AVLB and see if you can make your own version, it doesnt have to be the same but close enough with a paint job, so if you decide to try it good luck :)
