All the talk about the lack of painted pics (we seem to have a lot of threads with painted pics) has made me think - let's just have a simple thread specifically for your painted GHQ minis.

No complex commentary or the like, just a pic or two of one of the minis you've finished and a mention of which model it is.

Nice painting & shading of those modern vehicles. What was your process and color selection. One idea, can you take a picture on a cloth or terrain piece, I feel it provides a picture that is more 'rich', when/if you can. Sometimes it is not to be helped.
Nice results on those Abrams, Bradleys, Hummvs, TOCs, etc.

Thanks for the kind words Chris. I have some more info in my "terrain model" thread. I owe you the requested pics; I'm out of town right now on vacation (though I've got my hobby stuff with me, I should have new pics after this).

I also owe you the complete color breakdown. The paint is Testors enamel for the most part, I believe "armor sand" is the base color for the moderns with "dark earth" acrylic for the "dust" weathering. I used a black acrylic and water wash, though I'm not really satisfied with the results; I'm going to go back to my oil paint and mineral spirits wash next go around and see how it looks.

Method is, in a nutshell: airbrush basecoat (no seperate primer color), tracks gunmetal with rust on the sides (represents end connectors), rubber for the roadwheel tires, etc. Paint select details. Airbrush the dark earth, light on entire model, heavier on the running gear. Apply wash (black in this case). Paint details (mainly green for armored glass, plus anything else special like tow cables, machine guns, etc.) Use a silver pencil on hard edges and especially track end connectors. Once satisfied, use a rattle can of testors dull coat.

It isn't the insanely beautiful and detailed method some folks have developed, but I feel its a good combination of aesthetics and mass production.

Like I said, I owe you more. I do have this for the time being, though:

Don't want to dampen any enthusiasm here, but the difference between this thread and the 'show us your stuff' thread is to describe GHQ specific products and show them in a painted form (like the catalogue, except for the new releases). If you read the first entry, this thread was created in response to GHQ showing new releases as castings until a painted version was available for display. The 'determined' criteria for this thread is that it is an unmodified GHQ model, painted, and indicates the product number, which you can probably pick up if you follow the entries until November. The stuff shown all qualifies so far, and is good quality stuff, but to stay 'true' to the intent of the thread, just post what it is and its product number, or it really belongs in the 'show us your stuff' thread. Not wanting to be a Nazi on this, just think we should keep to the intent of the thread...
(Note: willing to be challenged on my assertions 'cause this aint my thread, but to my mind this is the ONLY difference from 'show us yer stuff). Also, I'm not trying to get you to move your entries to the other thread; the recent entries have kept the thread alive and are showing GHQ models as WE paint them so I think this is a good thread to maintain. Just suggesting that in future you say what the model is and maybe the product number (you may notice some of mine are no longer in production, so they are legacy products).
