If you're talking about the N29 package, the blade is molded, the "grate" is a separate piece. It doesn't look to be too hard to remove the blade if you have a narrow saw blade as the blade is mounted on the hull by 2 rectangular pieces. I bought mine some time ago and things might have changed.
