Big gun - cool model, cool terrain.

I just assume something like that is far enough behind the lines so why armor any of it??

Crew likely travels in a separate carrier or truck.

Very nice pictures of those huge Russian guns, Ben! I would assume that the rest of the crew travels in an armored vehicle or truck plus the ammo trucks.

Chinese Dongfeng, copy of the US Hummv. Not sure of brand, hence the Chinese PLA gets ‘em.

I decided to do a few fun models to represent my time in the Army. This is the first one, I call it “Here I Sit Broken Hearted”. I’m sure a lot of you are familiar with this epic poem!

In an earlier Army, they were yellow-slatted shacks oer holes and logs over pits. That blue thing is luvurious, as well as representative of the first smiling @$$-chewing I got from the brigade commander as his S-4.

Redleg,
Damn, that’s Brillant!! Awesome!
It is the Supreme HQ - The Thinking Room. Change colors for the NC to red and white.
That’s great, I guess it could also be used as the exterior W/C.

Since Model Masters paints has changed the colors and mix I am in search of a substitute for S.A.C. Green.
Used Krylon Fusion All-in-One Matte Pale Green. For Medium Green will try Matte Spanish Moss.

The Pale Green is a stronger shade, may need a wash.

Hi Chris

My understanding is that Testors Model Master line of paints has been discontinued. This is from talking with people from 2 different hobby shops here in the Phoenix area. I know the racks are not getting restocked and they seem to be selling off what is there.

Although I did not use Model Master paints, there were some other items in that line that I did buy such as brushes and the larger red cans of paint thinner. I can no longer get either one.

True statement, Rustoleum bought out Testors and as soon as they did, they axed the Model Master line. I used MM enamels for all of my airbrushing on my models for ages, mainly because of the huge color range, and when they discontinued, it put a cramp in my modeling for a bit until I found a new paint line I was happy with. But all is right in the world again.

Well, for brush painting and mini’s I’ve always used Vallejo. For airbrushing I use Mr Color. Mr Color doesn’t brush paint well at all, but for airbrushing, it’s amazing.

Good looking vehicles Chris! I like the variation in colors - it's cool to have slight differences in shades of green, especially with a force as huge as yours!
