Re: Show us yer stuff!
I got another platoon each of AMX-30 tanks and AMX-10 IFV finished last night. I tried a little different technique this time. I did the base coat in NATO Green and then I applied a black wash and then a dry brush of NATO green on top. Then I did a heavy dry brush of the NATO Brown and NATO Black. I like the results better than last time, but there is still much room for improvement. I will continue to experiment as I still haven't cracked the code on when to apply the wash for a camo paint job.
In the previous pics some of the tanks look a little glossy, but this pic is a comparison of the old technique (on the left) and the new technique (on the right).

Redleg, I like 'em. Good job!

Red leg,
Looking good dude. What brand of NATO Green, spray or hand paint?
Brand of NATO Brown, and black?
Thank you.

Re: Show us yer stuff!
Thanks guys! I'm going to keep working on the technique - eventually I'll have it dialed in. I feel like I'm bracketing the target!
Chris, the colors are Tamiya NATO Green, NATO Brown, and NATO Black out of a bottle. I keep telling myself I'm going to get an airbrush, but so far It's still all 100% brush work.

Re: Show us yer stuff!
Redleg,
I have been mixing in a couple of drops of Tamiya German Grey, into my Tamiya NATO Black so the black is not so deep and has a slight faded look to it. I do the exact opposite for tires. I mix a couple of drops of Black into the German Grey to give the tires a faded used look. I think it works well. And since I mix both at the point I do the painting.. there is slight variation in the color. I do the same with the brown.. I mix the Nato tri color with another tamiya brown, but I forget off the top of my head. I will look and see what I use.

Those MLRS pods are better than the previous pods that were available a few years ago. Some cool stuff you have picked up.
Just finished painting these except for the tracks.

Yes, the models are from Shapeways. I have already bought some other models from Shapeways:
German ATF Dingo II Armored Car
US M934 Truck with Van Body
20ft Standard Container
HETS M1070 / M1000 Truck and Trailer
HEMTT M983 with M870A1 Semitrailer
MIM-104 Missile Battery Trucks
US M932 Semi-Truck w. M1032 / M 373 Trailer
Oshkosh Mk48 Dragon Wagon / MK14 Flatbed
The Shapeways models are from "Masters of Military".

Re: Show us yer stuff!
I am on the run-up to a large scenario based on Maleme Airfield. I have most of the OB already as I have run this in past. However, there were a few things i wanted to add.
German DFS 230s in a landed state along with some Pak 35/36 both towed and deployed along with some "just landed" Falshirmjagers.
Commonwealth Bofors towed and deployed and some more Tommies.
One of the more interesting and odd weapons that was landed on Crete was the Light Pack Howitzer 75mm. No manufacturer makes these in 6mm, so I used a pack of Hungarian 47mm ATG, did minor surgery on barrels and created a decent facsimile for my October game.
The real thing.
My conversion deployed.
Towed by Kettenkrads.

Great work Bill! I love the howitzer conversions! The just landed Falshirmjagers look very cool too - did you make the parachutes or do they come in a pack like that?
