BTW -
There are now a total of (200) distinct and different decals available for your GHQ WWII Carriers and Modern Harpoon miniatures in (164) different packs.

Next up (hopefully before Thanksgiving):
- Jiangwei II (Type 053H3) Class, this is the last of the Chinese vessels
- CGN California
- FF Knox
- Royal Navy Falkland War era ships
That will take care of everything except the Soviet/Russian moderns. As new releases pop up, the plan is to have the appropriate deck decal available within 60 days.

Tanner's efforts have made a tremendous impact to our enjoyment of Micronauts.

Aircraft Carrier Deck Decals

Post by pmskaar »

Hi Brad

I just ordered some deck decals for GHQ's WWII Japanese aircraft carriers. I had a couple of questions for you.

1. Will the decal for the Junyo as she appeared off Guadalca nal be available in the near future?

2. Are the decals for the Shokaku and Zuikaku as they appear at Pearl Harbor the same as for their later appearance at Coral Sea and Guadalca nal?

Thanks very much and have a great day!

Pete

Pete,
Thanks for the order.
1. I have no plans for an additional Junyo variant at this time. The Hiyo decal would be a reasonable representation of the Junyo in summer/fall of 1942. Feel free to private message me if you have a specific photo/drawing of what you are looking for and I will see if this is feasible.
2. The Shokaku and Zuikaku (Pearl Harbor variants) will work fine for Coral Sea and ** CENSORED **.

It would be impractical to have a specific deck decal for every variant, of every ship for every year (or portion of the year). But, I am always looking for suggestions!

Aircraft Carrier Deck Decals

Post by pmskaar »

Hi Brad

Thanks for the response. I appreciate it.

Sea-Bat Replicas made a Junyo deck decal and I actually have one. I am assuming that the one they made is for the 1942 period but I can't be absolutely certain of that right now.
My decal is currently on loan to !-94 for their reference but I'm not sure when they will be done with it and the others I sent.

I am primarily interested in doing the battles of 1942 when I get around to painting up some more ships. Having a 1942 Junyo would be very nice since it appears that almost all the others are covered.

Thanks very much for doing these.

Pete

Sea-Bat decals were great, and at one point I had a bunch of them. I especially liked the multiple versions of modern USN hull numbers they had (high-vis and low-vis...) and their helicopter decks were very nice. Their WWII deck decals were super as well, but I have found (for me at least) the full deck decals are easier to turn into a good looking ship.

15% off sale for one week beginning now (plus free shipping in the USA). I have good level of decal inventory right now. As we are heading into gaming/collecting season it should be a good time to stock up on decals.
