Pontoon Bridge Combat Command - pic of unpainted casting up

Post by 33YearsGHQ »

I am looking forward to this set, but I was hoping one of the trucks would have been a crane version. But, it will still be a great set without it. I will order a couple this weekend

I'm also desperate for a picture. Have you seen something that shows no launching cranes?

There's a description and a placeholder for the picture under the New Model and it just says 'trucks'. I think they would probably have specifically mentioned a crane if there was one. Also, if there was a crane, there wouldn't be enough trucks to carry the number of bridge components listed.

The crane issue aside, the bridging version of the 6x6 had lifting gear for the pontoons. The basis 6x6 doesn't, it's a soft top general transport like the Mack or the 2 1/2 tonners. I'm hoping the 5 trucks have the lifting gear for the pontoons, but I bet they don't.

Considering a pontoon set has been available from CinC for years, the main distinction here IS the trucks. I already have the pontoon bridge... I don't have the engineering vehicles to erect it.

Very nice to hear. Thank you! BTW, very quick getting the pics up for this release (except the bridge, but being a CC, may be somewhat more complicated to photograph).

GHQ wrote "it has a truck with crane"

What does it means? One of the truck has a crane (it should be the C666) or all the trucks have the hydraulic portal crane (B666).

If so, why call the trucks Corbitt 50SD6 and not Brockway 666?.

Very agree with you TAMMY. (why call the trucks Corbitt 50SD6 and not Brockway 666 ?)
50SD6 is the name only for the cargo version (with rear tarpaulin).
Wait and see...
I really hope there's few B666 in this CC and not only one (because no need four cargo trucks 50SD6 to play with pontoons and Treadway  )
This CC is a great opportunity to have the first real bridge engineers set in the GHQ micro armor range.. provided we have specialized vehicules inside...

The crane truck is likely to be a proper Brockway C666. Hopefully the other trucks will be the B666. We will find out soon

The use of a Brockway C666 is not necessary to launch a Treadway bridge. The lauch can be easily done using the portal crane of the B666.

Moreover a B666 carry 2 pontoons and 4 Treadway so 5 trucks are needed to carry those foreseen by GHQ.
