T-55 MV question

Looking at the picture online I was wondering what is next to the machine gun? Is that a person or something else? Can anyone tell me?

It appears to be an infra-red spotlight. The T-55MV was equipped with those. However, I could be wrong!

I'm sure that is it. At first I thought it was supposed to be a person but the head would be square and neck very thin.

Excellent job. Your wash really brings out the detail of the tank. I'm going to have to try washes again and see if I can get a better result. I felt like I had too much paint.

Do you do a clear gloss coat before the application of a wash? I was told by a friend who builds larger scale models that a gloss clear coat makes it easier to remove the wash from the flat surfaces. He told me, due to the ruff surface of a matte color, the wash tends to get into the ruff surface an hard to remove. So he recommended a gloss clear coat, wash and then clear coat sealer and than matte clear coat.
Also do you seal all your vehicles with a clear coat to protect the paint from chipping?

Thanks for getting back to me Cama. Being new to painting things this tiny, I have a ton of questions. However I will refrain in this post. I will probably strip a few of my older things and use them as a test bed. I also should probably try out some of the paints that you identified. Currently I am using model masters thinned out a little.

Wow beautiful work on the T55 Cama. It looked nice unpainted but you painting really sets it off.
