UK - 63 Question

Post by Cav Dog »

I have been building some forces for the Six Day War and in my research I have found that the Jordanians used 17# anti tank guns in the fighting in the Dothan Valley.

UK - 63 17# anti tank guns comes with Crusader prime movers. Does anybody know if that is what the Jordanians used or did they use something else, ie quads or regular trucks?

Here are some teasers of my Jordanians:

And yeah, the wash is a little overdone...

The Crusader gun tractor was not the standard transport for the 17pdr. It was only used for corps level AT regiments in NW Europe in 21st Army Group. Divisional units got M5/M9 half tracks, quads, or 3 ton trucks. As they were never a 'matched set' the guns would certainly have been sold just as the guns, new owners to supply transport. My guess, 2.5 tonners or similar, seeing as the Jordanian unit at Jenin had Pattons and Jordan already had M113's.
There is no right or wrong, only decisions and consequences.

Thanks for the info. The wash actually looks good at arms length, at least on the infantry. It really darkened up the sand color on the tanks though, which kind of surprised me since I gloss coated them before I applied the wash. Never was all that good at chemistry. Hmmmm...
