Question can you use liquid mask on pewter? I wish to airbrush several 1/300th scale aircraft, the topside is painted now I wish to paint the bottom. I thought of using this product to mask the wings an edges of the fuselage, airbrush them then peel the mask off? just curious if anyone has used this for such a project.

I'm doing 30 plus aircraft an airbrushing them is much easier an time saving than, hand brushing them. I'm just afraid it may pull the other paint up that has already been applied.

I normaly use a putty or even sculpey the kind that needs to be baked to harden,That said I doubt the mask will pull up large areas you might just need to touch up a few spots..Mikey

I have not had good luck with mask on 1/285th; but I'm sure it can be done... just be careful when peeling it up after spraying, it tends to pull paint off with it (especially delicate airbrush paint on top of pewter).

My method:
1. Primer the whole model
2. Paint the topside the color that you'd like
3. Hold the aircraft with the underside perpendicular to the airbrush and spray the underside the color that you'd like. Be very careful not to move the aircraft side to side or you'll spray the sides of the fuselage.

This method seems to work well for me but it does take a little practice. It's MUCH faster than taping or masking and it looks the most realistic (in my opinion).
