I'm just finishing up a pack of American AT guns and have 2 barrels left over. I'm a devout chucker which means they go in the trash bin unless I find another home for them. Ditto jeep covers, alternate turrets, you name it, if I have bits left over I don't have a definite use for, out they go. I give them away or just toss them. I live in a small condo and space is at a real premium. Even forgetting I'd never remember where I put the darn things anyhow.
So, are you a keeper or a chucker?

I keep spare parts for kit bashing projects. I have plastic storage compartment boxes for nuts and bolts and organize the spare parts by country, type of ship and time period.
Keeper.
At worse case, you can store hundreds in a box the size of a pack of "smokes", and they are too useful (and expensive) for bashing or just repairing damage to just toss out.
I still have some that are over 40 years old...
I am 100% keeper - I can just about manage to throw away the sprues I am not so organised as dattrains, but I do keep everything in a variety of plastic compartment boxes.
I actually do keep the sprues- good casting material...
I'm not completely organised, but I have 4X6 inch card boxes with 24 pockets each I'm gradually getting my ship and "tank" parts into...
