Can anyone tell me just what combinations they are cast in, and how many of what?

G98 which is the seated German infantry comes in 3 and 5 man groups on sprues. These are originally intended as passengers for the G97 Krupp Protze trucks but can have many other uses as well. There are no MG gunners in this pack.

G101 which are the German armored Panzergrenadiers are for the Sdkfz 251/C1 and 251/D1 models that GHQ makes. With some trimming they will probably fit in the 250/1's as well. These do come with the separate machine gunners as well.
My major regret with GHQ on this set is that the machine gunners were cast with no lower body so look goofy when alone in a vehicle without the other guys covering up the missing legs.

I am not keen on G101 either. Apart from the legless machine gunners, the other troops are cast in groups which really don't look like 3-4 men together, more like an explosion in a limb factory. In the end I have manned my 251s using regular infantry with the bases removed. I usually put 2-3 plus a gunner in the vehicle, and 2-3 more on the ground advancing alongside the half track.

Thanks to all for the info.
I'm guessing about a dozen each of 3 and 5 man groups per pack then.
I need some for the Protze; want to try them for a few other things too.
Hopefully they can be separated without messing them up much...
Cama, looking forward to the pic when you have time, thanks.
John, good thought, I might give that a try on the "H-T's".
Most of mine are such antiques I don't know if the "101's" would even fit...

These are examples of the sort of thing I have done. As you can see, I have not attempted to model the full complement of infantry, typically I just have 4-6 figures in and alongside the vehicle. The idea is to have a vignette giving the impression of Panzergrenadiers attacking with their half track.

Great pictures, guys! Very nicely done models. :D

I really love to see the way folks do their open-topped models. Putting in the figures just adds so much character to them. And it makes it so much fun to read the forum when I get to see the different ways folks set them up!

Luca,

What color did you paint your Krupp trucks ?
It looks like a field grey but I am not sure.
