I base everything on steel and keep it in boxes lines with sheet magnet. Each box is 2 or 3 layers deep.

I bought my daughter (for her jewelry making business) a set of trays with a hard case. For $40 or $50 you can get a soft sided carrying case, with 12 1" deep trays. I think the hard sided case I bought had 13 trays and was about $75.
If you google "jewelry tray" on Ebay you'll turn up loads of options.

I'm not going to use GHQs forum to promote my own products ... but you can PM me if you want and I'll show you what I use / make / sell specifically for Micro Armor.

I'll vouch for Allen's GCM trays... I own 8-10 of them now and love them. They are great for storage, display, or trasport of micro armor on anything short of checked airline luggage.

I use Plano plastic fishing storage boxes purchased from Walmart. 3500 series type. Holds 45 vehicles. I line the bottom with scissor cut cabinet shelf liners that are soft rubber and use foam rubber blocks to hold down the figures. It has a hinged cover top with locking clips. Cost about 3 to 4 dollars. You can stack the boxes on to of each other and will protect the figures. Transport in a big plastic tool box sold at Walmart and Home Depot.

I store my minis in these boxes used for bolts and other little hardware stuff.
I waste some space in hight, but at least they're reasonably cheap and easy to procure. I bought the first 10 years ago, it costed 10 Euros, now they're sold at 12.

@ Extra Crispy, Great idea about the Jewelry Storage Trays. I bought some and they seem to be a great way to store at home,
and maybe even to travel with. I tried cutting some thin foam strips to more firmly hold them in place, but I am not sure it is necessary
since the plastic inserts have a high friction velvety coating. These may not work for everyone, but I am liking them initially.
Bottom tray is my Yemeni Mixed Armor Brigade (or part of it). Yes T-80BV

Great ideas! I like to hear what other people use. For my based minis I like the magnetic bases- they hold well with a metal sheet for traveling. On my unbased minis I like the bunker boxes. I have some from GHQ, and some others that are like them, but are made by someone else. I then take those bunker boxes, and stack them into a larger toolbox-like box with clasps and a handle on it. That works well for storing them at home, and for traveling with them.

I use Sabol army transport for micronauts, for most modern/WW2/WW1 models the 1 inch foam works fine. These days Battlefoam might be a better product.
Long ago I asked here and it was suggested I use I94 Footlocker boxes. I tried them but a very unfortunate accident caused me to move on.
Because of an injury I'm weak and don't walk well. I had a Nimitz carrier in a Footlocker box, cut to hold it in the styrofoam. I managed to drop the box, in movie time slow motion, I watched the box plunge down to the concrete walk and impact on a corner, worse place, bounce high into the air. The impact broke the hinges so the top flew off and the Nimitz flew out, arcing upward and then down to the concrete where it too hit on the bow corner and then bounced again. The impact caused various pieces to fly off the model.
Worse it wasn't my model

I had to order parts to repair it
Perhaps my solution is more than required but I can drop the entire bag and nothing happens because the foam keeps them confined and the opening won't snap from the impact like the plastic hinges did on the Footlocker box.
I can do 35 ww2 destroyer models in one foam, 25 modern destroyer/cruisers per foam. Of course larger models rapidly reduce the number and for carriers I use inch and a half foam for the added depth.
It works for Napoleonic sailing ships also but deeper foam is required
All I can say is many things work well as long as nothing gets dropped but if they do, or if your transportation is involved in an accident, then you need to consider what the results might be and how you can prevent that.
