I played the board game 'Team Yankee' years ago but used GHQ figures on a tabletop.
There was one scenario with Team Yankee under attack by 2 T-72 battalions. The scenario stated that one battalion would be used first and when they got down to 1/3 tanks left they'd be removed and the next battalion would come in.
It was pretty good having 31 T-72s on table.

In fact, it partly prompted my desire to sell my moderns off and get back to what I love which is early WW2

That's a bit of an extream response don't you think? Based on reading an overview of one set of rules your turned off from a whole time period? I mean each to their own. I on the other hand am very excited for this rules set. I think this is exactly what this time period needed. All the rules systems out there are based on 1 tank equals a platoon or 5 tanks. Who wants to play that? I want to see 100 Russian tanks on the table! And I don't want to spend 20 minutes to kill just 1. I want fast past rules with a 1 to 1 scale that will give me a reasonable outcome with a few hours of enjoyment. I want a reason to put every model I have bought and painted on the table.

I like FoW quite a bit, but then WW2 is definitely a "secondary" period for me in terms of interest. So it's the right speed. I'm curious about Team Yankee and bought the printable counters in 6mm from the MBT game. Frankly, I can't get stuff painted as it is, so it was counters or nothing. If I end up liking the game/period enough I'll slowly replace the counters with models. Still play on a big table with nice terrain, using a 1/2 scale ruler. So my table will effectively be 12 x 18!

Yep, I'm interested in it too and will give it a try.
I agree that anything that increases interest / awareness in moderns is a good thing. Have played FOW with microarmor in the past with the half-scale rulers, and it is a quantum improvement on playing it in 15mm IMHO.

I'm going to try that on Monday with the information there is available.

Diddo here as well.
FOW may be too "beer and pretzel" for diehard historical gamers, but i found it to be a good balance of easy and fun while loosely based on history. In my opinion 1/285th scale looks and plays better for FOW than 15mm, although we kept ranges and movement distances "as written", only swapping out the artillery and air strike templates for the litco GHQ 1/2 scale ones to keep them from dominating the game.
I have already began collecting GHQ moderns in preperation for Team Yankee and am currently contemplating camo schemes.

If you're like me (and most wargamers I know), you collect rulebooks and therefore MUST have it!!

I have seen a good number of posts on TMP saying they would be using Micro Armor for TY. Glad to hear it will be 1:1 based. I also enjoy having a fair number of figs on the board.

For the people who are not keeping up with what's going on Team Yankee will have data cards with unit stats. Anyone who is familiar with Flames of War will be able to understands these right away. Anyone else can post questions and I will try my best to answer them.

I'm totally taking credit for the unit card idea. I've been making them up for the WW2 rules for a couple years now.

For a game like this unit data cards is a great idea. Warmachine has been using them for years now and it has worked well for them. The idea is they will be able to release new vehicles at random without having to write a whole new book. Or wait for a book to release a bunch of vehicles. For us that means the game will grow and a steady rate.

Yep, the unit cards are a good idea. It basically makes each new model a self-contained new release. No need to bundle them up into additional supplements.
