Modern Countermeasure Systems

Post by Stryker »

So with the new Countermeasure Systems like Shtora-1 from Russia, Trophy from Israel and Quick Kill soon from US available on some Armored Tanks and Vehicles very soon.

What rule changes have you seen for these? Roll by the defending vehicle to see if the countermeasure works?

I would think once a weapon is fired you would roll to see if the weapon is intercepted. If not, then you would go through the motions of determining if it hits and does any damage.

The old TacForce rules had something like that, as do many naval rules. ATGM's have a noted time of flight, and in TF you had a chance to spot the launch signature and fire suppression on the area to put off the gunner and alter the chance to hit. Same with torpedoes, and I assume most modern rules would have something to deal with missile defence.
There is no right or wrong, only decisions and consequences.

At the moment I am giving them 50-50 saving roll against ATGW, RPG, LAW and aircraft bombs, but the Israeli Trophy system seems more successful than that from what little info is available.
