Puh-leez Santa Clause, can we have a GHQ Armata (no, not the Polish 105mm artillery piece)?

I second the request. I will purchase a regiment worth.

I requested this same vehicle last year only to see radical changes from first web images to victory day parade video.

I'm not sure GHQ has real world unit that is stable enough (in terms of overall shape and dimensions) to commission a plastic original model for casting.

But I too still want to see in GHQ pewter!

I have to preface my comment by saying that I LOVE LOVE LOVE GHQ and everthing they make and I've been a customer since the late 1970s. Except for the stuff I make myself, 100% of my collection is GHQ.

... but I see this as a problem with their habit of announcing a year or more in advance what their production schedule is going to be. I would have thought as soon as the russians showed their new vehiches in the parade, GHQ would have put evertything else on hold and devoted all their resources to bringing out these new vehicles as soon as possible. ... But sadly it seems that's not how things work there and we have to just wait till all the other stuff on the list gets made first and hope these cool new vehicles make it on to the next 2 year production schedule.

I'll be happy to see them whenever they show up .... but I wish I didn't have to wait

I do agree with Allen. Its gonna be a bit unrealistic for them to put on hold everything else in the pipeline and devote to getting us Armata for the next release.

Hopefully by the time the new release is done. GHQ will make the T-14 Armata.

I for one would definitely get me a few of it.

I trust by 2016-2017, there might even be refinements on the Armata. That being the case, if GHQ can release the more improved version of the T-14, it would be perfect.

I think it should be possible to eave some space in the schedule to accommodate something new. Maybe a spot or two at the end of the year. I will not even begin to state that I know the logistics and planning involved with creating a new model. However, if a spot or two were left open at the end of the year, they could accommodate something new or an upswing in request for a particular model from the customer. They could always have the work done for a model that is not on the list, so that if a new vehicle does not appear, they have something to replace it with. That could be a good compromise on pushing it off till the next year or stopping everything to put out a one off from there plan.

Has the Armata even finished its Russian army trials?
Has it been assigned to an active duty unit?

Obviously Ural Wagon Factory (Uralwagonzavod) is marketing the heck out of it (offering it to Egypt, India and China per wikipedia)

According to Globalsecurity it won't complete state trials until 2016.

While I want one too, lets not put the tank before the mineplow. GHQ took a very loud negative response when they had one too few road wheels on one new model and one might think the pewter model world was coming to an end because the new German Puma model might be a tad too big. Based on that kind of treatment I don't blame them one bit for being hesitant about releasing a model of a vehicle that is not in the inventory of the country's army yet, hasn't completed state trials or been assigned to an active duty unit.

I agree with RedLeif. There have been numerous examples of prototype vehicles that were later cancelled or had significant changes to their appearance before entering service. Let's wait at least until trials have finished before pushing for release of a new model.

The question is whether the trial results are given as they go along or until the end. If they should be giving the results as they go along, which is what I expect, then the Russian army would know if changes are needed. If they wait tell the end then most likely something will change.

Russia has committed to buying 1400 Armata tanks so I expect little change in the initial design. Like all tanks, changes will be incorporated in the T14A1 or later models.

Lets wait on the new Russian tanks, I cannot afford 1400 new Armata tanks, certainly if they then re-work the actual vehicle in a few years.... What about the other vehicles?

I look forward to this vehicle in a few years, perhaps. I have plenty to pick up prior to that, tight budgets reducing the size of the military, watching China, modern Italian vehicles, and all the new stuff being produced, etc.

Like my friend "putin" I'm ready to invest some funds into my Russian forces. The new APC and Artillery are others that would be good. Modern Russian aircraft is also wanted.

Though I would like to get the latest Russian vehicles, I would rather wait until they are finalized. GHQ released a new modern vehicle shortly after it had been announced and I purchased some. It was later revised and I ended up replacing them with the final version.
