Cool. This makes me what to get back to acquiring ships, as I have yet to start ordering some. But that will have to wait ,since I just spent money on replacing my Hot Water Heater.

The ROD Ministry of Defense is happy to announce that June 2021 will be witness to the first annual International Tanker’s Ball! This week-long event is dedicated to tanks and their crews. The event will be held at the Combat Maneuver Training Center at ROD’s Armadillo Barracks.

The ROD invites interested imagi-nations to send their best tank company to the event. For this event, a tank company will consist of 10 tanks, 1 recovery vehicle, and 4 wheeled support vehicles. Tanks must be fully tracked, turreted, without dismounted troops, and mount a main gun of 90mm or larger. All 10 tanks must be of the same type.

The ROD will provide each tank company with a secure motor pool with maintenance facilities. We will also provide housing and meals for all participants, dignitaries, and media as well as fuel, live ammunition, MILES equipment, and ground transportation during the event. If your tanks require main gun ammunition other than NATO 105mm or 120mm please let us know in advance. Likewise, if your tanks utilize machine gun ammunition other than linked NATO 7.62mm and .50 Cal please let us know in advance.

Tank companies will be assigned to either the Dragoon Regiment or the Hussar Regiment.

There will be 6 competitions:
• Gunnery Range
• Driving Course
• Tank Biathlon
• Maintenance
• Capture the Hill (Company)
• Feeding Frenzy (Individual Crew)

While not part of the competition per se, there will also be a massive tank battle in the CMTC training area to close out the event.

Gunnery Range
Each tank will live fire on the range at both stationary and moving targets. Targets will be engaged with both main gun and machine gun. Points will be awarded for accuracy. And just when you think you’re done with the range, there will be a simulate chemical attack and each crew will shoot again in full chemical protective gear. The top shooting tank crew will receive a trophy, and the top shooting company will receive a plaque.

Driving Course
Each tank will complete 2 runs through a challenging tank obstacle course that will include fording a stream and negotiating a narrow street. A third run will be completed in full chemical protective gear. The three times will be combined, and penalties assessed for striking obstacles. The top driving tank crew will receive a trophy, and the top driving company will receive a plaque.

Tank Biathlon
Each tank crew will negotiate a challenging live fire course with rough terrain and moving targets. The tank will have to fire on the move as they wind through the course. Penalties will be assessed each time a tank stops. Points will be awarded based on both time and accuracy. The top tank crew will receive a trophy, and the top tank company will receive a plaque.

Maintenance
Each company will put their maintenance team to the test with a diabolical test. One tank will be selected by the judges for the event and it will be parked in a dirt lot. The maintenance team will remove the tank’s powerpack and replace it with a new one. Both tracks will also be removed and replaced with new ones. After 30 minutes the team will experience a simulated chemical attack and will have to complete the event in full chemical protective gear. Points will be awarded based on time, with penalties assessed if the tank fails to function properly at the end of the event.

Capture the Hill
Tank companies will be outfitted with MILES gear for this force-on-force event. A single objective (a hilltop) will be assigned to two competing companies. The companies that win will move on to subsequent rounds, until one company is declared “King of the Hill”.

Feeding Frenzy
All competing tanks will be equipped with MILEs gear and they will be turned loose in the training area to kill or be killed. Each tank will be able to take three hits before being disabled. The battle will go on until only one tank remains and that tank will be memorialized as the world’s best tank and crew.

[GM’s Note: No real people or micro armor tanks need to move for this event. Please just upload pics of your tanks and let me know who is participating. All competitions will be resolved by me by dice roll.]

If you would like to participate, please notify the ROD Ministry of Defense and include the unit designation and type of tank.

The Karma Defence Force would be happy to send two units to participate.
In anticipation of this very competition, this years armour conscript and reservist unit refresher training has included a “tank Biathlon” type contest across the KDF.
The winners (by dice roll) are.

4th Tank Company, 1st Battalion, Armoured Brigade.
Image
B Squadron, Dragoon Regt, Imber Brigade.

Both units operate the KN-2 MBT with NATO standard ammo.

Redleg,

How many units can we send, keeping it to 1 company or more than one. At the very least, the RPNW will be sending The Artemis company from the 10th Armored Battalion. They will be armed with M1A2 SEP TUSK IIs. They will be coming off the line along the Canadian boarder, just for this event.

The 10th and the 11th Armored Battalions are crack units. The 11th will be replacing the 10th on there normal rotation period.. the Remaining 2 companies (1 armor and 1 Bardley) will be put in reserve. Make no mistake, the RPNW does not have a shallow depth talent pool. If the NC wants to get froggy and leap, they may not find a log to land on.

Very good question from the RPNW! This is our first time doing this, and since the fighter rodeo allows two squadrons per nation, let's go with a max of two tank companies per participating nation.

We still have a month before the event - we want to give everyone time to hold internal competitions and to transport their tanks is moving by sea.

The ROD just identified their tank company as B Company / 1-5 Armor from the 2nd Armored Brigade in Mahishmati. Their vehicles are on a ship with the Mahishmati contingent (a company of M60A3s which has yet to be named). The ROD will soon identify a second tank company to compete.

All of my tanks and armored vehicles are stored away in their warehouses back home gathering dust, they will remain inactive for quite some time.

I don't know if mick is interested in those 2 AVGP vehicles? Plus I do use them (though outside the imagi-nations forum.)

Competitions continue in the ROD to select the second tank company. Competition to select the top brigade first, and then it will be to select the top company in the winning brigade. Today's competition knocked the following units out:

1st Brigade / 1st Mech Division
2nd Brigade / 1st Mech Division
1st Brigade / 3rd Mech Division
2nd Brigade / 3rd Mech Division
3rd Brigade / 3rd Mech Division
Marine Tank Battalion

The commander of the 3rd mech Division is not pleased - his tankers are going to be putting some overtime in!

Units still in the running:

3rd Brigade / 1st Mech Division
1st Brigade / 2nd Armor Division
2nd Brigade / 2nd Armor Division
3rd Armored Brigade (Reserve)
7th Armored Brigade

All units are operating the M1A1 tank, except for the 3rd Armored Brigade (Reserve) which still used M60A3s.

The first company identified was B Company / 1-5 Armor from the 2nd Armored Brigade, but since the decision was made to add a second company, the competition has been fierce. The field was narrowed to the 1st Brigade / 2nd Armored Division, which contains two tank battalions. After subsequent competition the winning company was named: B Company / 2-11 Armor.

Just as a side note: since the competing tank companies will contain 10 tanks, we have assigned bumper numbers to represent three 3-tank platoons, and a single command tank. If other nations have a different numbering system please let us know. Otherwise we can just number the tanks 1 through 10.

ROD & Mahishmati Bumper Numbers:
66: Company Commander
11: 1st Platoon Leader
12: 1st Platoon Wingman
13: 1st Platoon Sergeant
21: 2nd Platoon Leader
22: 2nd Platoon Wingman
23: 2nd Platoon Sergeant
31: 3rd Platoon Leader
32: 3rd Platoon Wingman
33: 3rd Platoon Sergeant
