(Lt Marcus Davis): "Pilot, Im very disappointed that you failed to win the Top Dogfighter Trophy for this year. Your on Janitorial duty when we get back to Cold Lake. If we are invited to next years Fighter Rodeo hopfully a much more successful pilot from our unit will give New Canada and the POP our first Top Dogfighter Trophy."

(Da Vincian Pilot): "Mama Mia, Come diavolo ha fatto la KDF, usando pezzi di spazzatura, combattenti cinesi e russi, a battere i nostri migliori combattenti nel Patto Pan Oceanico? ".

(NC Pilot): "Your guess is as good as mine."

(Feline Pilot): "Verdammt."

Congratulations to all pilots and their Crews! You did well.
It has been a great event.
Those KDF fighters look evil!

The pilots were up early this morning, reporting to their respective ready rooms and receiving orders at 0600 sharp. The squadrons were split into two wings: Angel Wing and Devil Wing. All aircraft departed Vulture Field no later than 0700, making a short hop to temporary airfields. Angel Field is on the coast to the south of Vulture Field. Devil Field is on the coast to the north of Vulture Field.

Once all 240 aircraft were landed and secured (120 at each location), the pilots received their orders:

Credible intelligence reports indicate that enemy forces are deploying ballistic missile submarines and surface combatants to your coastline. Intercepted transmissions direct submarine commanders to fire their missiles on friendly population centers and industrial targets.

Each wing must locate and destroy enemy naval targets, while defending their own warships against air attack. All simulated warships are derelict hulks floating off the coast, painted green for Angel forces and red for Devil forces.

Fighters are being equipped for simulated air-to-air engagements and attack aircraft are being loaded with live munitions.

Takeoff is in one hour!

Results to be posted later today.

The grand air battle can best be described as controlled mayhem. The fighters from both wings engaged each other over open water as the attack squadrons attempted to locate and attack the naval targets. Initially, Devil Wing gained the upper hand, with the ROD’s VFA-6 and the CoC’s 69th Air Wing gaining air superiority in a close-range dogfight. The Devil Wing attack aircraft began making attack runs against the green painted derelicts, destroying several with bombs and cannon fire before the Angel Wing fighters pounced and drove the off.

The battle migrated to the south and Devil Wing found themselves on the defensive. The F-111s of CoC’s 9th attack wing destroyed 2 enemy ships while RPNW Harriers destroyed a third.

The battle raged for almost 2 hours, but with aircraft short of fuel, ENDEX was called and all aircraft returned to Vulture Field for an AAR and sharing of tall tales.

There is some time for the pilots to get cleaned up before the awards ceremony, during which the winners will undoubtedly drink some Avatar Ale from their newly won trophies. They will probably drink some type of liquor from their helmets as well, and there is always that one guy that decides to drink from his boot, which the medical staff frowns upon.

Please enjoy yourselves at the barbeque hosted by the commander of ROD Air Combat Command. The rock band Smegma Bomb will be playing tonight along with rapper Big Phattie. Tomorrow morning a hangover recovery buffet will be held in Hangar 2 and then the squadrons will depart.

Thank you for attending the 2024 Fighter Rodeo! The next international event will be the Tanker’s Ball, which is traditionally held on the Army’s birthday (June 14th). Be ready for some hot tank-on-tank action at the Combat Maneuver Training Center at Armadillo Barracks in the ROD!

POP Team Camp Vulture Feild.
the pilots and commanders from the POP team remain at the camp during this time, as it felt best to avoid the terrible display of uncivilized behaviour going on in the ROD hanger. The Officers did calmly toast with New Canadian and Da Vincian Wine and spirits to the POP's successful participation in this years Fighter Rodeo. Despite not winning much other then the Pit-stop portion with the CF-21s. Hopefully the POP's Tank units, can do better at the Tankers Ball in June, if invited. In the meantime, it sounds like the pilots will have to spend more time in the Aircraft Simulator to better their flying skills.

The CoC appreciate the hosting, the hospitality that ROD has provided. The accommodations are appreciated, it was another great year at the Fighter Rodeo!!
.
The last two Flying Kegs are landing for the evening activities. Any beer and/or Ale wiil be sold tomorrow for a dollar each. All proceeds going the the local ROD. Navy Charity and a civic charity as determined by the Chamber of Commerce.
.
But tonight it’s free, even for the crazy, drum& a$$e$ from KDF.

Many thanks to the ROD for another excellent run fighter competition.
The KDF takes home a bonanza of knowledge and ideas to work on for the future.
Apologies for the limited visual participation this year due to major rearrangements in the hobby real estate (whats wrong with spray painting in the kitchen anyway?)
Until the next one, fly safe.
