NCBC's Strato Broadcast Station Channel 5 setup next to the POP teams area to broadcast the Fighter Rodeo back to New Canada and to help the Pan Oceanic Network broadcast this to the other Pact Nations.

B-70 flying in for static display.

The CoC has grounded all A-6 aircraft. Significant number of cracks and other safety issues have arisen, thus they are ground. The ‘Sluggers’, the 14th Air Wing will not be participating in the Fighter Rodeo.
Instead, the replacement air wing will be a flight of F-111 including 2 EF-111 and one RF-111, all of the 9th attack wing, ‘Foghat’.

POP Team camp meeting.
(Lt Daniel McDavid): "All right pilots listen up, this Fighter Rodeo will put our new 5th Generation Fighter to the test. All I want is to show to the other Imagi- nations Here, that the CF-21 is the best fighter that New Canada and the POP can field. Make the pilots of the F-35s blush with shame with the CF-21s superior performance as it comes 1st place. Make Bombardier Aerospace Proud."

We hope everyone is enjoying themselves, but don't get too crazy with the Saint Patrick's Day festivities! Competition starts tomorrow!

On tap for tomorrow:

Fighter squadrons low-level course
Head-to-head fighter competition, round 1
Attack squadron pit-stop competition

May the luck o' the Irish carry over into the competition for everyone!

The change in CoC aircraft is noted and it will not be a problem. The B-70 display is very impressive. Perhaps the only thing with a larger crowd around it is the Avatar Beer tent! Please be cautious as you dispense the Avatar - we noticed a significant number of independent brewers from the ROD on the Fighter Rodeo VIP attendance list. Don't be fooled by anyone with innocent questions about your brewing techniques or ingredients.

Here is a shot of the Sky Dogs performance from this afternoon:

Before the CF-21s takes off for the first day of competition, they are part of Bombardiers CF-21 display with a old school CRT TV on a table playing a promotional video showcasing the history of this fighters development, and its capabilities. The video ends with an animation showing the CF-21 triumphantly flying over the smoke trails of the F-35, KJ-20, and SU-57, with the Bombardier Aerospace Logo appearing afterwards.

The first day of competition at the 2024 Fighter Rodeo is in the books! The fighter squadrons were every busy today with the first round of head-to-head competition, as well as the fighter low level course. There were some really great times on the low level course today, but after computing times and factoring in penalties, a winner was declared:

Pilot #10 from ROD’s VFA-6 Demons (F/A-18E)

The attack squadrons were busy as well with the pit-stop competition. This event was a squadron-level competition for all attack squadrons. Once again, times were calculated and penalties assessed, and when the dust settled only one attack squadron was the winner of the pit stop competition:

CoC’s 55th Air Wing (F/A-18C)

After the day’s competition, the pilots and ground crews headed into town for some entertainment and as always seems to be the case, they found their way to Twinkle Toes, the world-famous karaoke bar. It got very crowded inside, but everyone seemed to behave themselves, at least until the fire marshal arrived and attempted to shut the place down due to fire code violations pertaining to maximum occupancy. Unfortunately, the pilots had been drinking for several hours and they decided it would be better to tape the fire marshal to the light post outside and keep singing. The crowd eventually dispersed, and the fire marshal was cut down without injury.

Tomorrow the competition continues! The attack pilots take their turn on the low level course while the fighter pilots continue round one of the head-to-head competition. And it’s live ammo for the fighter pilot drone shoot!

POP Team Camp Vulture Feild.
While the Other Nations Pilots are at the Karaoke bar, the POP Pilots remain at the camp, disappointed by the lack of wins, in this first day of competition.

Onboard the NCBC Plane.
(Lt Daniel McDavid on the phone with the BA president): "I know it sucks we lost on the first day, look i'll do what i can to get the CF-21s in first place Tomorrow no matter what. Hopefully with luck we could pull a win. Ok, ok sir, bye, Bye!" (Puts the phone down). "Oh man, Bombardier is not happy with the results."

Just playful fun?
In fact one of KDF fighter units is a bit of an odd one!
The KF-10's of 33 Squadron (25th Air Brigade) is a strange collection of camo schemes and all the pilots are much older than all the other competitors?
Old buggers that fly very well and aggressive but.... drink way too much and engage in getting other Nations pilots drunk and telling war stories (on the KDF's tab).
They also go out of their way to "interact" with anyone they fly near to. Always pushing to get a reaction, obviously out trying to record as much intel as possible.

Image
33 Sqn also has Bombardier G6000 on it's ORBAT. Not deployed to the fighter event but airborne around the ROD every day so far!
Data links a pinging.
PS.
KF-10 (J-10 for spec's) which is the Karma's indigenous made and designed fighter. This is the KDF's most numerous fighter.
KF-30 are SU-30 assembled in Karma as a stop gap for my delayed KF-20 "Super Arrow" fighter lol.

Great looking aircraft! And we will have to keep our wits about us when these old buggers are around!
