Port of St Catherine ROD.

The RCN Pacific Patrol has reached the ROD island on their first Port of Call, the Patrol Consists of 3 Halifax Class Frigates, the Oiler MV Asterix, the Carrier HMCS Canada with her Carrier Air Wing equipped with the New CF-118 Super Hornets.... And one Ferrari 288 GTO sports car that a Da Vincian Army Major accompanying with us has brought as he was looking for a passage back to his home island.

Day 1 of the Pacific patrols stay in the ROD,

With the New Canadian ships settled down at the port the crew is getting some much needed shore leave. The Da Vincian Major Ezio Ratatouille of the 1. Celere Division decided to take his Ferrari out onto the ROD roads for a drive during our stay. Hopefully he won't run into any trouble with the locals on the highways.

Day 2 of the Pacific Patrols Stay in the ROD.

All is still good for the RCN ships and crew without incident. Will be heading out Tomorrow to the next port of Call on Crown Island in the Indian Ocean, where the Kingdom of Da Vinci resides in order to drop off Major Ezio. If only we can find him he must be still on the ROD Highways in his Ferrari.

TU-16s From an Unknown Imagi-Nation, where did they come from?
Agreed. Inquiring gamers want to know.

If there is a Airshow or Fighter Rodeo planned at some point, Bombardier Aerospace is interested in showing off their Prototype CF-21 5th Gen Fighter.

There will be a Fighter Rodeo in March. You can send a squadron of CF-21s as one of your two squadrons for the competition.

I'll make sure that Bombardier Aerospace gets a full Squadron of CF-21s Ready for March. It won't be in any Active RCAF Squadrons until Summer or fall of 2025 at least. these are only just Prototypes.

Happy New Year from the Republic of Dalmatia! We hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday, and 2024 brings you nothing but good times!

[GM’s Note: for 2024 the ROD will be getting back to some events of previous years, like the Fighter Rodeo. Plus, I am going to be an even bigger nerd this year by tracking socio-economic indicators for the ROD, which will put restrictions on how big and grand the ROD military can be. Already, to start 2024 we have had to reduce the number of carrier battle groups, Army divisions, and Air Force fighter wings in order to make our budget. The ROD website will be updated on a regular basis with these exciting and intellectually stimulating details.]

Oh, that is too bad for Freedom, for People to be 'Free to Choose', Democracy and Republics.
Send a carrier or two my way, perhaps the battle group. You get rid of the expense and get some cash, and FCF, (free cash flow). That giant sized country to the east keeps expanding. They do it by telephone, on a secure line.

The ROD is quite alarmed to know that the Karmanaskis Navy is growing so fast. If they continue at this pace, they will have 60 warships (surface and subsurface) before ROD’s Independence Day in May. And that doesn’t include a couple dozen smaller missile boats. The ROD Navy will be watching closely. Just ignore those fishing boats in the north Pacific – all those antennae are so they can catch NHL games!

Perhaps we can get a closer look at some of the surface combatants. Would Karma like to participate in a BANGEX naval gunnery exercise in the north Pacific? We will be sending a couple battleships out to shoot stuff next week – do you have any ships that would like to join us?

It is a bit short notice for the KDF Navy to partake in the up coming 'Bangex". We will have some ships in the North Pacific at that time and will coordinate with the ROD to safely observe. At the same time KDF Navy will be conducting land bombardment of a target in N. Karmanaskis at a range of some 1500 Km.

Karma does not rule out conducting joint exercises with the ROD in the near future, when it is in the interests of Karmanaskis.

After several years, the Republic of Dalmatia is pleased to announce that the 2024 International Fighter Rodeo is a go, and it is open to the international imagi-nation community! The event will be held March 16th through March 23rd at Vulture Field in the ROD. The International Fighter Rodeo is a week-long event that brings the best combat pilots together from all over the world to hone their combat skills and to promote camaraderie and interoperability.

This year there is a slight change: Each PLAYER is invited to send 4 squadrons to the event. The squadrons may be all from the same imagi-nation, or they may be from different imagi-nations. The following squadron guidelines must be followed by all participants:

• The 4 squadrons must include 2 fighter squadrons and 2 attack squadrons. Any airframe may be used, but the squadrons will be designated as either fighter or attack for the competition.
• Each squadron will consist of 12 aircraft and no more than 150 personnel. All 12 aircraft in the squadron must be the same type.

Additional support aircraft and personnel are welcome, though they will not be involved in the competition. The ROD will provide housing and meals for all participants, dignitaries, and media as well as fuel, live ordnance, training ordnance, and ground transportation during the event.

The basic structure of the event remains the same:

There will be three competition categories: fighter, attack, and support.

Fighter Category
-Low-level course. All 12 pilots will complete a challenging course at low altitude, negotiating a series of man-made markers and natural terrain features designed to test a pilot’s ability to maneuver at low altitude. Score is based on time and accuracy.

-Drone shoot. All 12 pilots will intercept an unmanned drone and destroy it with cannon fire. Aircraft will be airborne when the drone is launched and will be directed to the target by AWACS aircraft. Time will start when the fighter is 20 miles away from the target. Aircraft without internal cannon will mount an external 20mm gun pod for this event.

-Head-to-head. All 12 pilots will participate in a 1-on-1 dogfight with another fighter. 2 points will be awarded for a victory, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Pilots will participate in 2 dogfights and then the pilots with the most points will enter a semi-final stage leading up to one pilot being named top dogfighter.

Attack Category
-Low-level course. All 12 pilots will complete a challenging course at low altitude, negotiating a series of man-made markers and natural terrain features designed to test a pilot’s ability to maneuver at low altitude. Score is based on time and accuracy.

-Cannon shoot. All 12 pilots will attack a stationary ground target and destroy it with cannon fire. Points will be awarded for accuracy. Aircraft without internal cannon will mount an external 20mm gun pod for this event.

-Bomb drop. All 12 pilots will attack a stationary ground target and destroy it with a 500 lb unguided bomb. Points will be awarded for accuracy.

Support Category
-Aircraft maintenance. A panel of distinguished aircraft maintenance experts will inspect all 12 aircraft and award points based on the overall readiness and condition of the squadron’s aircraft.

-Aircraft pit-stop. All 12 aircraft will begin the competition airborne with a full load of blue painted training ammunition and ordnance, but with minimal fuel. The entire squadron will land and be refueled by the ground crew. All ammunition and ordnance will be downloaded and replaced with a full complement of red-painted training ammunition and ordnance. Time will start when the first aircraft touches down and will end when the last aircraft lifts off after refueling and rearming.

Grand Finale
The rodeo will culminate in a major air battle with all aircraft participating in a force-on-force exercise that will test combat skills as well as the ability to operate effectively in a multi-national force.

[GM’s Note: No real people or micro armor aircraft need to move for this event. Please just add pics of your aircraft and let me know who is participating. All competitions will be resolved by me by dice roll. Aircraft can be in any scale (1/285, 1/600, 1/2400). You do not even need to have a full squadron – the squadron commander’s aircraft will do!]

If you would like to participate, please notify the ROD Ministry of Defense and include the squadron designations and aircraft types.
