That quite possibly is the most expensive mobile ice rink in the history of man. Just curious what happens if the carrier is required to defend itself? You honestly could have saved money by leasing a carnival cruise ship with an ice rink on board. Plus a lot more entertainment.

Aren’t you crossing the equator right about now, heading into the southern hemisphere where it’s summertime?

If you really ant to pass the time you could try flying some planes off of the carrier.

To a answer Hoth’s Question, the Carrier has to rely on her escorts to defend her from attack due to the carrier packing minimum weapons outside of her aircraft. She will have to fall back to a safe distance to deploy her fighters.

I could do that Redleg, but I’ll have to be close to shore to do some carrier training in case the jets needs to land at a airfield in an emergency.

Umm.....I would not call aircraft minimum weapons....that is the whole strength of a carrier group. It made surface warfare obsolete. The fighter aircraft and early warning aircraft fly ahead so that nothing gets close enough to touch the carrier and give advance warning. If the escorts are sailing too far away from the carrier, they cannot provide anti air and anti submarine defense. If the carrier drops back from the escorts, you will leave your ship exposed to attack with no support. My advice is to sail back to Canada. Buy an old carrier and use it for carrier training off your coast. Then when your air crew are ready, you can send out your fleet carrier. Keep in mind, if your aircraft can't make it back to the deck, if problems arise, they are not making it back to land. That is what your rescue helos are for. So if the jet can't make it and ditches, then a help from land or carrier makes no difference. Either way pilot is going in the drink.

Well at least the pilots have a lot of flight simulator experience throughout the whole trip, and having a training carrier may not be a bad Idea, though the old carrier must have an angled deck.

Your best bet would be an old straight-decked carrier. The rectangular shape of the deck will be more suited for outdoor sports.

The ROD Navy is conducting a submarine exercise in the northern Pacific this week, primarily off the east coast of the ROD. Yesterday the subs were playing cat and mouse games, and then this morning all of the attack subs took part in an intense underwater combat scenario. Here is a photo of the vicious undersea battle:

This is exactly why I don't purchase submarine models for my fleets. (OK, I acknowledge that many WWI and WWII submarine attacks were surface engagements.)

New Canada's Trafalgar class Subs does engage in surface operations as the Harpoon missiles we use are not the sub launched versions. However that will be rectified in a future refit as it was discovered that the subs can fire sub launched Tomahawk Missiles from their torpedo tubes.

Associated Press Dec 3rd, 2020 - 9:32 Pacific time

Shorty after the conclusion of talks between the ROD and the RPNW, The recently activated RPNW naval vessel, LHD-1 Bellingham, was seen departing the Navy Docks at the Port of Everett. Top naval officials would not provide details as to where the ship was headed. They would only say that the 15th Marine Expeditionary force, War Dogs, were heading for training exercises with European partners. Its important to note, that elements of the 15th were part of a joint ROD expeditionary force earlier this year. The departure of the Bellingham was followed by reports of Both Commercial and Military transports departing from McChord AFB. A confidential source, has indicated that advance elements of the Elite 2nd Calvary Regiment, 1st squadron - Kodiak, is aboard the transport planes heading to and oversees deployment. No details were given on there destination. However, based on the timing of these events, it can only be assumed that there final destination is to bolster ROD Forces already in the area.

Right now, there are few details as to the nature of these troop movements. From all indications, this is the result of recent EE movements in eastern Europe. We will continue to monitor these events and bring you updates as we get them.

The ROD is very pleased with the outcome of the meeting with the RPNW and we are looking forward to working very closely with them! We will be watching the War Dogs very closely to see how we can make our own Marines more effective. Looing forward to another combined mission in 2021 and we're getting ready to shift the Combined Amphibious Warfare Center to the RPNW for the next year!

Happy Saint Barbara’s Day! This is a national holiday in the ROD with much celebrating and firing of cannons. Most artillery units are at their local range today, but the nation’s attention is on the Saint Barbara Impact Area at Redleg Barracks where the annual Saint Barb’s Time on Target was fired this morning.

The commandant of the Field Artillery was on the hill with the Fire Support Team from C Company / 2-8 Infantry to personally call in the mission. A special joint FDC was established to handle all of the firing units. At 10:03am sharp, several hundred projectiles impacted at the same time on an old rusty VW Beetle that was parked in the middle of the impact area. Some years the impact of all the 105mm rounds, 155mm rounds, 203mm rounds, and 227mm rockets can be felt in Hawaii. ROD hospitals often report a spike in the birth rate tied to Saint Barbara’s Day festivities.

Ohhhhhhhh!!...... OMG.
All that artillery. Looks like enough to destroy the world. Errrrrrrr, at least a country, a small country... a City-State for sure.
If things heat up again in Ukraine, I will call ya Mike. Will need some indirect fire support.
