The Abbotsford Airport is still serviceable, as aircraft from both the RCAF and the RCN are present to deliver equipment to flight the flooding.

We will try to use Abbotsford as our primary, but if there is too much congestion with NC aircraft we shift to Bellingham. With RPNW's permission we will use Bellingham as a staging area for supplies. We can have fixed wing transport aircraft fly supplies into Bellingham for staging and then it will be a short hop to Abbotsford for distribution.

The ROD is clear to use Bellingham international. RPNW military assets will be on hand with forklifts and trucks to assist with supplies.

So NC really did put a lieutenant in charge of regional disaster relief? That’s a lot of responsibility for a young officer. The SHAM commander, a Navy captain (O-6), has come ashore and is leading the ROD teams from an austere command post at Abbotsford International Airport.

Well Kale was raised as a officer, from the enlisted ranks making him a first of his kind in the NCAF, he got that promotion after his performance at the Training exercise with the Outboard Islands.

I think it’s great that NC is identifying talented soldiers with leadership skills and promoting them to officers but running a regional disaster relief program might be a little over an infantry lieutenant’s head. Perhaps I just misunderstood, and NC has a higher ranking officer or civilian official in charge of the operation and LT Kale is just running his platoon.

Shelia from Action News at WSE-XY TV reporting that ROD military forces are helping the citizens of NC from the flooding.
Helicopters as these and others have been flying for a couple of days. All day today and through the night. The ROD Navy are being the best World Citizens helping so much. Even better than countries as CHI, PRNW, Gator State, NC, and of course better than the CoC.

The Global Fleet is enjoying the weather in New York City. The cruise will conclude in Mexico, which surprisingly is not a DOM. The world tour has been successful so far. Various nations have had ships participate. A few pictures of ROD Navy ships.

Hours ago, seismic activity report from the north central Pacific Ocean.
It went off and on for hours.
As car alarms were also going off mostly on army posts, it was determined it was from the St. Barbara’s celebration by the ROD Army.

As is becoming the norm, the ROD Ambassador and military attaché are hosted at the KDF's School of Artillery for their St. Barbara’s day celebration.
After a "heavy" brunch and tour of the school the Karma Minister of Defence gave a press briefing.
He used the occasion to a announce the KDF will take up the option on 4 more KN-9 SPG before the end of the year.
This will bring the KDF's KN-9 fleet to 24 inline with the KDF modernization plans.

With flood waters receding, B.C. is shifting from emergency response to recovery and debris management in flood-ravaged communities across the province. (from the Vancouver Sun, dated December 6, 2021). As of 1400 hours local time, evacuation orders for Abbotsford’s central Sumas Prairie were lifted, allowing more residents to begin returning home.

ROD’s 1st SHAM is shifting focus as well and is dedicating all rotary wing assets to movement of supplies, instead of allocating some birds to search and rescue. Air lifting of supplies into Bellingham in the RPNW has ceased, due to the very large stockpile of food, water, medicine, and generators at that site.

1st SHAM will remain in the area as long as they are needed but based on current conditions the commander estimates that they will be able to depart within the week.

1st SHAM’s austere command post:

1st SHAM has accounted for all equipment and personnel and they departed Vancouver this morning. It should be a short trip home to Naval Station Saint Catherine.
