Pacific Ocean near California.
The Destoryer HMCS Skenna, is mid way through its first leg of its first Global Patrol duty, they are expected to reach Chile for a refueling stop on Sunday before making a round trip to New Zealand then to Australia before finally making its return trip back to CFB Esquimult.

(Radar Operator): "Sir, Ships detected on Radar."
(Captain): (stumbles out into the Bridge) "What the bloody hell, Look outs can you ID those damn ships?"
(Look outs): "Aye sir" (Looks out through the Binoculars, then looks up the ship silhouette books): "Got a ID Captain, It looks like a ROD Carrier group uh CBG 10."
(Captain): "Helmsman, plot a course that will take us around that ROD Carrier Group so we can maintain a good amount of distance."
(Helmsman): "Aye Captain, plotting course around the ROD Group."
(Captain): "Good, if theres not anymore... interruptions I'll get back to my Quarters thank you very much, missing out on some good Hockey action on NCBC, in the mean time keep an eye on that ROD Carrier Group to ensure we can keep our distance."
(Lookout): "Aye Sir".

Our F-18s wave as they fly past the RCN ship. Carrier Battle Group 10 is making port in San Diego this morning for a short visit. San Diego is one of the world's greatest cities so we try to stop by as often as possible. Plus, there is Tijuana just a short taxi ride away. ROD Navy tradition is that a sailor can't really call himself a sailor until he's been to Tijuana!

CBG 10 is shadowed by the frigate KNS Kiprusoff to the South of Karmanaskis. Multiply submarine actively is also noted near by.

Excellent! We never pass an opportunity to conduct some training - especially with highly trained crews!

CVBG-10 would like to engage the Karma subs in some anti-submarine exercises. The battle group's sub is the Thresher class attack sub RODS Tuna.
Image

We would also like to break the Spruance class destroyer RODS Rapier off from the battle group to train against subs.
Image

And last but not least, the S-3Bs from VS-13 "Ninjas" would like to participate.
Image

Are you down for some cat and mouse underwater action? Afterward you can chopper some of your guys over for a BBQ on the flight deck!

CFS Tofino, Vancouver Island NC.
(Radioman): (Reading a intercepted transcript) "CVBG-10 Would like to engage the Karma subs in some Anti-submarine exercises, Afterwards we can chopper some of your guys over for a BBQ on the flight deck." (finishes reading). "Bloody Hell". Runs to the bases Telephone Switchboard operator. "Hey can you wire NCAF Pacific Command in CFB Esquimult, they must hear this."
(Switchboard Operator): "Im on It."

Pacific Command HQ, CFB Eqsumult.
(Admiral Kirk): "The RODs 10th Carrier fleet has ran into Karma's ships while they where out on their patrol, we need to get a closer on this, send in the Trafalgar submarine HMCS Walleye to investigate."

"Excellent! We never pass an opportunity to conduct some training - especially with highly trained crews!"

Karmanaskis as a none aligned State will not engage in training with other Nations.
We will limit our military contact via our attache's to avoid misunderstandings or conflict.
Our rules of engagement are simple and well known, we will defend our sovereignty at all costs.

Karma is still licking its wounds from the loss of East Island (sometimes called Vancouver Is).
It is defensive, suspicious and liable to fire first, then argue about measuring distance.
All foreign diplomatic missions are restricted to the capital city area.

Karma normally excepts the idea of 12NM national boundary and 200NM EEZ.
However just like the USA, Karma has not ratified the Law of the Sea!
Extreme caution should be exercised when approaching, our 12NM may be different to yours.

GM note. KNS Kiprusoff is a Type 053H2G, Two sub contacts made. First smaller probably an Orac 1, second larger Orca 2 class?

"ROD Carrier Group 10, this is HMCS Walleye, Recommend you alter course away from Karmanaskis waters immediately, your Carrier group is more then welcome to visit the Port of Vancouver as part of your patrol."

Understood. Our cat and mouse game will be a little more tense, but nothing overtly hostile. We're all in international waters doing what navies have been doing for many years. We'll monitor you while you monitor us, but no one is really interested in shooting. The ROD has no beef with Karma. I'm not really sure where Karma is located, but as we cruise around the north Pacific we will be in international waters and we will respect Karma waters and air space.

The ROD aircraft will try to keep tabs on the Karma frigate and subs while our sub dives and attempts to break contact. Their goal is to disappear and then come back from a different direction to see if they can slip into the mix undetected.

Great Graham
In the morning, E-2 Hawkeye flys out to Karma Island West, staying 15-20 NM from shore including a reef/sand bar that sometimes breaks the surface. Detect ROD ships, aircraft also flying around.
Karma radars were off from northern hilltop, then seemed to be from a different location by 80 feet, Not sure if it is mobile only, if the one detected the last several weeks is mobile and this fixed location or vis-a-versa. Then southern radars flipped on.
Afternoon flight 737 AEW Wedgetail flys by on similar path as the E-2 earlier in the day.

Redleg, The New Karma island is located 200km West of Vancouver Island, its government has become somewhat of a isolationist movement with little to no contact with the rest of the world, and they can be quite hostile if their sovereignty is threatened, even if what your doing is peaceful, its for the best that your carrier group stays clear of that island, The Walleye will escort you guys out.

From the radar detection of the Karma, and their ships and planes. ROD task force should accept the escort by NC. They will protect your TF.
