As the various elements of the Task Force, TF for Operation Goat Meat was getting underway some ships were unable to get up to speed. Fuel lines ad boilers were not functioning properly, at efficiency. Many of our reservists should be on board, or at least the intent is for them to be on board. They work in the civilian sector of Military Sales and Surplus Division (MSSD- pronounced missed). The earn their salary and can earn substantial bonuses. One reason many stay in the military is to 'hear' about soon to be surplus equipment, about potential sales by other countries. Our MSSD employees have been known to try to move forward the date of surplus of equipment. It is said to increase their bonuses. We don't believe it.
.
Operation Goat Meat is in operation with Canberra, DDG, 1 LST, and a Visby patrol craft for the Med journey. The San Diego and another LST will train in the along the Berlic Island chain practicing search, identify, control/kill (sick- pronounced "sick") operations along with an oiler and support/supply ship. Some NCO assault team members will join this training group and on the Canberra group of 'Goat Meat'. When the ships that are then able to steam properly leave port they will be joined up with the training group for Task Force- Goat Meat 2, part of Operation Goat Meat.
.
In other news, a contract was offered to Ginger from Camastan, to report on traffic in Monaco, in Casablanca, and shipping traffic in the western Med, and possibly the eastern Med. No word if Ginger will accept this contract. It is reported under social media that she like the cooler weather to snuggle under blankets, so the word is the Mediterranean region is too warm/hot for her. She may be having hot flashes, which is known to happen.
.
No reports from the Wolf of CNNN, on the Tunisadom eastern border with Libya. There has not been any significant shooting in the last two weeks with bandits, bad guys or terrorists. Military reports some movement although much lower cycle. There has been a petol shortage in western Libya for consumers and bad guys. However, some camps have seen an uptick in training- shooting AK-47s 7.625 x 39mm rounds and RPG-7s, early version. Large shipment was received in Libya a month ago it is reported. This was surplus from the Russians. It was to have been supplied to Syria, but they did not want it.
.
We of course will provide the most up-to-date news (if possible) when it happens.

The Commonwealth of Chrisdom, Department of Defense, Military Surplus and Sales & Leasing Division is open for business. Leasing an Ohio Class submarine, with ICBM. 3 month lease is $50,000,000, plus damages and excessive wear and tear. You will not be provided any launch codes or capability. If you would like to hire a trained crew, another $315,000 per month for the 3 months. All crew members must be certified and credentialed. If wishing to lease the Triumphant, $47,000,000 for the 3month lease. Monthly expense for trained crew is $292,000, a real bargain.

One Company in the Commonwealth, 67% own by the government for the people and 10% by the royals.... This company, Dome Resources & and Exploration has been on a long-term contract to the Govt of Algeria exploring in central and southern Algeria. Reported to the Algerian government that there are natural resources in much of the area evaluated. Oil, natural gas, titanium, etc. (A secret report to the Commonwealth Ministry of Economic Affairs, Sec. of Defense, Sec of War, and the senior government leaders, that the extent of resources is much richer than being reported, not all the research was under the contract). So Dome R&E had ability to extend their evaluation in the southwest and western area of Algeria.
.
Other companies participating was Exxon/Mobile, BP, and some smaller natural resource companies.
.
Plans are under way for change of the primary objective for the attack into Algeria. The Logistics will be under great strain. A logistics trail of several hundred kilometers, that would be exposed to attack, poor roads or off-road for most of the way would threaten the mission and its success.

News report on The Wolf, CNNN. 6 members of an survey and geology assessment team were kidnapped about 1400 KM southeast of Tindouf, Algeria. and about 350 Km due west of Tamanrasset, Algeria, which is out in the middle of the Sahara Desert in southern Algeria.
A driver's body was founds at the site along with a survey special, Jacq Clem from Casablanca, Morrocodom, CofC. Bullet holes littered the two Land Rover 100 and the Glenda-wagon. Water canisters were filled with bullet holes that no long would hold water, survey equipment was damaged.
.
A spokesman for Dome Resources & Exploration Management Group is quoted as saying "all the employees are saddened to learn of the death of Jacq, he was a fun loving guy in the company. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Additionally, we are highly concerned about the 6 members of the survey team. Names are not being release, due to notification of the next of kin. There has not been any communication from an organization regarding the 6 members of the team.
.
When asked if they thought it could have been simple bandits or members of Al-Kabab or similar para-military or terrorist group. The spokesman replied, "we do not know, we do not know who did this." Wolf says, 'certainly the people or criminals that did they had some heavy firepower, they knew what they doing. The ambush took place about 2 Km form a rail line, yet it was bother now some of the regular trucks that move along the Tamanrasset highway.
.
In a press briefing following the above report and Press meeting by Dome R&E. Col. Rukus spoke to members of the press corp indicating that the Commonwealth and it leaders are very concerned. When pushed further about any response or rescue effort. Col Rukus replied that we are looking at all possibilities, but trying to find and have returned those 6 people to their families. We are in discussion with Mauritania leadership for any information that they might be able to provide. (SECRET discussion, is to see if we can gain access if needed for any rescue effort.).

Commonwealth Chrisdom may expand.

Post by chrisswim »

The Commonwealth is possibly expanding with new members.
The Azores. and Madeira Islands (the two autonomous regions of Portugal) and the Canary Islands (Spain) are considering a political change in affiliation. Each local government has expressed interest in becoming a member of the Commonwealth. Residents are to vote in a referendum. Spain local government is conducting the process. This has manifested from Brexit.
A task force to visit the island groups over the next few weeks will occur. It is an opportunity to meet the residents and for them to meet some of the military making a port-of-call. Some members of business & banking, government, education, etc., will fly in to the Canary Islands, Azores, and Madeiras. There will be reciprocal visits to Monaco, the capital in Monacodom, The Chamber of Commerce is supporting and helping organize the visits. The task force will include the Canberra, San Diego, DDG, a cruiser and a LST, perhaps more. Some transport and fighter flights will fly in and put on some short air-shows and visits.
On the good side, the US is now making available the F-35 series of aircraft that have been on pre-order. The first group will be F-35 A will be flown out to meet the Canberra and Invincible in about 4 weeks, about 200 miles out to sea, either from NS Norfolk, VA or NS Mayport, FL. The Invincible will meet up with the Canberra and escorts for the F-35 pickup and the ferry of the planes.
On a secret note.....the plans of the invasion of southern Algeria are being evaluated. The time table keeps continues to be deferred. The southern area has extremely high natural resources. Can business contracts be affected that would be profitable for all involved?
There has been an up-tick in the number of incursions into Tunisadom from Lybia. The local constable is unable to patrol, monitor. deter the terrorist and stop them.

The Azores is appearing to be extremely favorable to becoming a member of the Commonwealth. As the Canberra entered, crowds were cheering, very large crowds. When the visiting task force left the Madeira Islands, there was not any enthusiasm for membership into the Commonwealth. The Azores has always enjoyed the Gran Prix. The visit to the Azores is expected to be a few days. Then to the Canary Islands prior to the vote by these three Island Nations.

The exploration in southern Algeria is at a conclusion working for the Algerian Govt. We are continuing to search to identify opportunities to harvest the natural resources. Terrorist have still be active, but protection units have made a local difference. Recon and Cav units have been deployed in various situations to ward off, defeat and to destroy local terrorist members of Al-abab. Dome Resources and Mgt Group has also hired private contractors for protection of the teams in Algeria. The military protection groups have deployed AML 20/60/90s, Rooikats 105, trucks and VABs; they can all move in convoy on the long highways. Al-Kabab has demonstrated ability to attack small arms, and AT weapon systems and IEDs. There was an attack upon a move company truck, burning the truck after the driver and 2 crew members were killed.

During the Gran Prix race today in Monaco, There were two attacks. One with 6 guys using AKs shooting spectators watching the race and it so happened a Formula 1 Racer from Spain and one from the UK. Neither were in contention of placing in the race. They shot at least 48 spectators, and 3 police men and a woman. It is reported that 2 of the officers died along with 19 spectators. Both cars did catch fire and both drivers did not survive
In the second attack several terrorists attacked the Grandstand. There is not any confirmed info yet. It appears that some sort of bomb or rocket attack took place and automatic fire was heard. More details to follow.

I am trying to figure out how this topic has anything to do with GHQ miniatures.

It seems to me, that its a playful way to show of miniatures with a back story and then took On a life of its own. I do love the stories when pictures of miniatures are included. I have found it entertaining and have been tempted to jump into the Frey from time to time. However, I have left my post to being about the miniatures and the hobby.
Quantity has a Quality all its own.

At least it keeps the forum going when the forum gets a bit slow, as it has been the last couple weeks...

I find it highly entertaining. I love the story building here. I just wish I had more time to devote to writing my own imagination. Chris and I could be "enemies".

It looks to me like another land grab by CofC. Gator State citizens engaged in civic programs on those islands have heard reports of swimmers coming ashore at night on all three island groups and disappearing into the shadows. There is speculation that they are there to ensure voting goes the way the CofC desires. The Gator State would suggest UN observers, but it is well known the the UN is an instrument of CofC. Shades of Crimea! The Gator State has issued a warning to its citizens to make their way to mainland as soon as possible, and from there repair to the Gator State. The State will find other areas of the globe where they might ply their skills for the betterment of humanity. All parties are enjoined to not interfere with this evacuation.

I keep forgetting, is the Gator State below Florida State and Georgia State? Seems like they are at least third in ranking.

Paul, did you get run out of Gainesville? Opinions are like... well, you know. Regardless of how well the football team is doing in a particular year, I know which campus and college town I like best.
