I toyed with moderns for Team Yankee and the tanks just don't do it for me. So for now I'll stick with my flats. So I have for sale the "test" figures I did.

5 x T72
5 x BMP1
5 x M1
5 x Bradley

Soviets in green, US in camo. Will get some pics later today.

All vehicles mounted on steel, flocked bases, turrets are glued in place.

Asking $60 for the lot, plus shipping.

But when you need 102 T72s, counters are cheaper and faster...

I am a visual person, so I invest/spend on miniatures vs. counters. I guess I would then play board games. Glad it works for you Mick. I do not think that you painting on counters will look near as neat and cool, much less visually appealing.
.
I like your camo for the US vehicles. Keep them, pick up the next 100 T-72s, but you probably will not need them just yet. Probably get by with 31 T-72 of micro armor. Micro armor and many games are concept games, I prefer to use miniatures, I find it visually appealing. (GHQ sells miniatures not counters). But being a concept game you can use paper counters, also.

I am not painting on counters - I downloaded images and use those.

I really only do big games - just have no interest in small ones. So for a period that is a secondary period (at best) I can't justify the dollars for something I'll play twice a year. Much less the painting time, even with an air brush. I have one friend who just sprays his moderns and he's happy with that. But I can't do it - I have to at least dry brush, do the treads, and maybe a few key details. Then there's all the infantry.

For the cost of 31 tanks from GHQ - well maybe 50 - I now have a Soviet armor division and US forces to match. And they're already done and ready to play with.

Now back to painting more WW2 Soviets....
