Any use for plumber's putty?

I had to buy a tub of plumber's putty to install a disposal. Now I have almost a complete tub of the stuff. Are there any uses for it when making terrain? Does it get hard or does it stay pliable? Does it take paint well?

Not really good for terrain because it doesn't harden.

Save it, the sink will be next.

From the plumbers I have seen, they don't use it to fill the cracks....

If the putty will not harden then it would be excellent to use to keep turrets on and still allow for rotation.

Yes, it is not meant to harden, it is supposed to stay flexible to seal joints even where there is a bit of movement. Keeping turrets on might work.
