Predictions for New Releases 16-17

Post by chrisswim »

Give us your prediction of what new models will be released by GHQ. Let us know if it is modern or WW2. Your prediction can be a hope, Please do not give a list of 37 items, a small handful. 3-6 items maximum please. If you want to tell us why, please give us a quick reason.

Modern Land warefare:
Italian Dardo AIFV, GHQ release 3 other modern Italian vehicles.
Patria AMV- Modern 8x8 used by about a half dozen countries.
German Dingo II, 4x4 APC/ MRAP used by several countries beside Germany.

My predictions for 2016-2017 (showing great restraint in not listing the other 31 I had in mind)
WWI Micronauts: France pre-Dreadnought battleship Charlemagne class
WWII Micronauts: France heavy cruiser Duquesne class
Modern Micronauts: China destroyer Luyang III (type 052D) class
WWII Microarmor: US truck 2½ ton 6x6 cargo model 352 (short-wheelbase)
Modern Microarmor: Russia tank Armata
Microarmor aircraft: Polish PZL.23 Karaś

I am going with an upset pick that a North Korean tank will be one of the releases.

Donald,
Those are good predictions, even if none come to fruition.
For modern micro armor- I do not think of the Armata to be produced. There is a lot of interest in it. Even if produced for only 3 years it might be worth it. I wonder how many Russia has produced so far and expect to produce in 2016 and 2017.

I'm hoping for the Stryker 30mm turret, especially since it likely would be easy to add to the existing chassis. Perhaps it could even be offered "turrets only" as an upgrade package.

The Turks have a new tank, as do the Indians. Iran has an interesting upgraded M47 that resembles an M60A1. There is a CV90 version that mounts a 120mm gun. All would be great possibilities.

The oft-requested Conqueror and M103 would make nice additions to the '47 line.

Given their influence, we might see a set of Russian "Green Men."

For me I think it'll be mostly modern... as that has a number of ranges that can be fleshed out more:
Aussie infantry types.
Patria AM
Pantsir S1 AD for the Russians
More Chinese like the Type 96 tank and other new gen gear.
Third World Warriors with AKs instead of G3s.
New insurgents representing the more eccentric weapons like RPG-29/ TOW etc

Definitely expecting 1960's/70's Soviet heavy weapons like recoilless rifles/ SA-7 and AT-3 Sagger... make for good Arab Israeli fights.

WW2: More 21st Panzer, Russian AAA pieces like the 85mm.

Micronauts: Some of the ships used by Russian forces in syria.

There has to be more Combat support. The Route Clearance Company is still not fully produced. US and NATO bridging is really lacking. And we don't even have the M119A3 digital howitzer being fielded as we speak.. We need modern and ultra modern system to war-game the near term 3 to 5 yrs out. The Husky is still not being molded and is the backbone of the Route Clearance Company. We also have SOCOM GCV.
