So I wound up with one of these bus models in my collection. Just wondering, what was it used for? Was it a troop transporter? Command vehicle? Used for press junkets? Bachelor parties?

As I understand it the French used pressed civilian buses for army troop transports in 1940. I love those H&R buses you've got Mark. I'm lookingf roward to seeing GHQ's forthcoming ZIS buses. I think it will be more like the one imaged here:

rather than here (a 4x2 drive, 28 passenger civilian bus on the ZIS-11 chassis):

I plan to use any and all busses as command stands or part of a medic unit (which has no value other than scenic in my games - I dunno maybe an objective marker?). I'm eager for the ZIS bus but really wished for an Opel... Maybe next year... In any case I plan on the Germans using these "captured" busses too.

That was a civilian bus and trailer used by the military.
Buses were made into troop carriers, command vehicles, ambulances and a food storage vehicle with a field kitchen.
That bus and trailer by Ros/Heriocs is in 300th scale slightly smaller that 285th scale.
Masters of Military produce a set of 6 Opel Blitz buses 3 different versions two of each, the also do the Vomag bus in a set and just released the Renault TC40 Paris bus as used by the Germans.
Not cheap kits but well made kits and produced in 3D. :)
