Sometimes GHQ does answer this type of question, but most often we just have to wait for description and/or photos in the actual release.
Your question will be answered by 2017-01-02.

The trailer pack will have 3 variants of the M17 trailer. It's a two axle trailer that is used in many ways and places.

Oh well, one pack I won't be buying. M17 based trailers don't appear to have ever been issued to US armoured divisions during WW2, only M10 (what I was hoping for), 1 ton single axle and 1/4 ton.

piersyf,

Given the amount of "midnight requisitioning" going on during the war, I wouldn't be surprised if a few non-issue trailers showed up where they were needed. GIs weren't so likely to make a distinction when there were easy pickings around the battlefield, Necessity was the mother of taking something whether it was authorized or not...

One of the difficulties when the106th Division relieved the 28th on the line in the area that would become the Bulge was that the 28th, having been in sustained combat, had acquired quite a few extra machineguns. The 106th arrived with just their TOE stuff and didn't have the guns to man all the positions.

Not disputing that, but considering the oldest manual I could find that references the M17 is dated December 1944, I would question the opportunities to so acquire the trailers within line units. Corps or army level units may have some, but in any case they would not be in any way standard finds within a division. I have not seen a single photo of these used in WW2. In short, at the very most you'd buy 1 pack to cover your entire division... and I model at 1:1.

I get it. I model at 1:1, too. And I don't game, either. Still, I"ve been known to substitute until the right thing comes along.

I have seen photos of a 4 wheeled / 2 axle trailer with the gun turret from the M16 half track mounted on then dated from late 1944. I believe they were issues to Infantry Divisions in liu of the M16 MGMC. Will see if I can find a pic on line.

Possibly, but I haven't seen any images of them being used in theatre (so NOT pics from manuals), and in any case, I have an armoured unit, not an infantry unit. GHQ's 1 1/2 ton trucks are useless to me too. I'm saying I have no use for them , not that nobody will...
