Just got interested in microarmor. Been a gamer for a while, but only DBA. In the process of painting up the tanks I bought, soon will be ready for war. Have to find a club, but only ones "local" are 26 and 90 miles away.
Dragon's Den in Poughkeepsie NY is convenient, but is primarily D&D. I'll see if I can drum up some interest.

Welcome to micro armor.
Check out to see if there are any Conventions near you as that is a good place to find a group or new friends.

Welcome Aboard CKG:
If you want to drum up interest two things will really, really help. First, a nice looking table. For me, this is the primary reward of the hobby. Boardgames are cheaper, faster and easier but just don't give you that visual appeal. Terrain does not have to be hard or expensive to be fantastic.
Second, pick a fast and furious set of rules. Honestly, I'd suggest an all tank/vehicles Flames of War game. Everyone would pick up the basics very fast and it's actually a decent system. If you get some takers, then introduce other troop types one at a time. First add in the artillery and air (but keep the guns off board). After that towed guns and finally infantry. The buckets of dice system is appealing to a lot of D&D/Warhammer types.
Good luck!
