Very cool work Polish, what are you going to do for artillery and AT crews on the DAK stuff?

Thank you. I picked up a bunch of infantry, heavy weapons and gun crew figures that I am attempting to get through now. These are the initial tests and colors. I may redo the belts but I think I have the webbing color correct.

Due to the variations in uniforms or exposure to the elements, I am thinking about painting my command stands more of a desert/khaki color for uniform. Visual cue for commander separation, but also painting the commanders a different color to denote a longer period of time in the field. As opposed to front line troops with newer unis.

Thanks redleg.

The infantry bases measure .75" x .75". My vehicle bases depend on size... .75" x .75" for small vehicles, 1.00" x .75" wide, 1.25" x .75" or 1.5" x .75" for the big fellas with long barrels.

Your infantry is so well done Polish - the various shading you use is great. And your detail work is so precise!

Nicely done! That’s a whole lotta infantry! Looks like you have more than some of the requisite colors to start painting Confederates too :D

Thank you BurtWolf! Im on the newer side with these North Africa campaign infantry. Relating to color schemes and how they come together. So the DAK infantry was a first run trial. The green unis are correct but when brand new. No accounting for environmental fading/damage to them. But do you incorporate that or go with the easier color recognition for game playing?

It is! Yeah, it’s the toolbox, right? I need 5 paints… crap, I have 4… order 1… and eventually, you have all you need. This is a battle everyone fights! So much more to do after this group too! Lol (dreading…)

I just ordered more paint for a pair of Fw-190s and the splinter pattern on the Ju-87Gs and Hs-129Bs… Need to break those out now and prepare them. Need to plant a magnet underneath each of them. Planes scare me. lol (something on the newer side)

Very nice work on the Afrika Korps infantry, Polish GI. I painted some about 10 years ago along with about 2 companies of Desert Rats as well. I actually have more Afrika Korps infantry that are mounted on nails awaiting finishing. Another project started long ago.

Long time no talk... I haven't been around in a while.

Took a direct hit in my personal life but now I am trying to dust myself off and get moving again.

Apologies for going AWOL.

I will try to be around more these days.

Figured I would upload some pics of what I started working on at the moment. Trying to get back into things and moving forward.

Hand in the modern middle east segment…

I ended up finishing my DAK infantry and some supporting vehicles. Some large artillery pieces as well. But only took pics of these…

Picked this up recently and need to incorporate it into my terrain setup. I believe it was manufactured with Stalingrad in mind…
