First Unit: Keep it simple. You can *always* use another battalion of T34s! So while I catalog what I have and what I need, this is an easy place to start. First off they come off the old bases, and get new, longer ones to protect the gun barrels. We use a nice 2 part epoxy - none of this wimpy super glue for Mother Russia!
Close up of the current state of paint (ugh):
You can see the new base sizes here:
And here they are curing on their new shiny steel homes, while the T70s keep watch in back:

A little more progress. The T34/85s have been base coated and dry brushed. The 76s are finished and ready for basing.

And up next for re-fit: Two units of KV1s, another company of T34s and a battery of Katysha rocket launchers (Note: Order lots more of these):

That's some great work. I wish I had the talent that I see on this forum.

Some more progress. I find that having my painting table in the den really helps a lot. I can sit down and work in very short increments while I wait for a pot to boil, or the dryer to finish spinning, and just do one little thing. Maybe add the sand to 20 bases, or give a group of vehicles a quick wash. With a convenient place to work, you can get a lot done just in 10 or 15 minute sessions.

Finished Katyusha battery:
T34s to round out my first battalion, which is now up to 3 full companies of 10 tanks each:
Heavy tanks in support:
In case the first lot don't get the job done:
And the whole lot safely put away in storage:
